An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Civil Engineer or Associate Civil Engineer to lead the growth of a developing Civil Engineering team within a successful engineering consultancy.

The Role
  • Lead the delivery of highways, drainage and infrastructure design projects.
  • Manage residential, commercial and mixed‑use development schemes.
  • Prepare and review Section 38, Section 278 and Section 104 designs.
  • Deliver SuDS, flood risk and drainage strategies.
  • Build, mentor and develop a growing team of Civil Engineers and Technicians.
About You
  • Proven UK consultancy experience.
  • Strong background in:

A well-established firm of consulting engineers with c15 staff are looking to hire a Contract Civil Infrastructure Engineer for a long-term contract.
 
Our client has been operating for over 10 years and are a well-known name in the London market.
 
Due a long-term staff member leaving our client is now looking to hire a contractor for an on-going contract.
 
You will be working on various Infrastructure elements on projects such as SuDs design, drainage design, below ground utilities and road infrastructure.  Our client uses Causeway Flow so any previous experience with this would be advantageous.  Applicants with either Microdrainage or Infodrainage experience are still welcome.
 
Our client would be looking for 2 days presence in their Central London office which has excellent transport links.  On offer is an Outside IR35 contract with a rate of up to £45 p/h Ltd depending on your experience.

About the Company

The Southampton office was established to provide a local presence on projects, leveraging an abundance of expertise and knowledge within complex engineering sectors such as life science and healthcare as well as listed historical buildings and large scale commercial projects.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and support staff, delivering a consistent high-quality service for clients, ensuring that repeat and new business opportunities are developed and profitability is achieved.

Your Role:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across various building sectors.
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative, and timely approach to delivery. This is a client-facing role, so you will attend project meetings and disseminate/translate the brief within the project team.
  • Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered.
  • Mentor and support the next generation of professionals, including apprentices and graduates.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record of delivering on a variety of complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and business development skills
  • Experience with modern technical delivery processes and relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux.
  • Demonstrable experience working with clients, contractors, and architects in a design-oriented/consultant role.
  • Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
  • Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
