The role of a baggage operative is to help with the transportation and loading/unloading of passenger baggage in and around the current baggage facility.

Shift

Duties

-The unloading and loading of passenger baggage from cart/vessels into lifts to be delivered to the baggage arrivals area for passenger collection, bags can weigh anything from 10-20kg.

- To ensure company health & safety policies are adhered to
- Load and unload materials from trucks or containers
- Adhere to company and site policies, culture and value

- To work within the established standards of accuracy

To undertake and implement any training provided by the company in relation to the development of the role, individual or operation

Skills

As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of our high-quality catering products from the unit to Bristol Airport.

Location:

Main Duties of the HGV Driver

  • Driving 15-18 tonne company liveried HGV vehicles in a secure and controlled environment.
  • Carrying out vehicle safety checks before each shift.
  • Loading and unloading catering equipment and supplies onto aircraft.
  • Liaising with flight crew and working collaboratively with other ground handling providers.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of company vehicles.
  • Adhering to all Road Traffic Acts and Airport By-laws.
  • Completing additional daily duties including bar and stores packing, search and sealing, and associated paperwork.
  • Assisting with warehouse duties as required.


Requirements

  • Valid HGV Category C driving licence (up to 3 penalty points may be considered).
  • Digital Tachograph Card and knowledge of digital tachograph regulations.
  • Driver CPC qualification (essential).
  • Previous HGV driving experience is desirable.
  • Airside driving experience would be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of the Road Traffic Act.

The Flow Coordinator is responsible for:

  • To obtain uplift sheet with daily allocation of flights, update sheets for the transport operation.
  • Keep accurate records of changes & transactions (i.e. check off/record changes)
  • Check & Amend aircraft configuration changes (ie shortages/increases)
  • Ensure correct use of stowage labels on each piece of airline equipment as appropriate
  • Keep updated on work to be carried out during the course of the shift and note latest amendments.
  • To check all equipment and is to satisfactory standard, i.e. in good working order (trolley doors, brakes), clean (old tickets removed), dry and bars for correct specification and quantities.
  • Assemble and check allocated flights & ensure delivery to appropriate department/bay/class
  • Assemble and check relevant stock/equipment & ensure delivery to appropriate department/bay/class
  • Assemble and check sundry items (flowers, news papers, juice, water) are placed on relevant flights as reqd.
  • Implement Dry Ice procedure as instructed

  • Wednesday - Saturday
  • 06:00 - 14:00
  • 4 days on, 2 days off (7 day coverage)
  • FULL TIME POSITION ONLY , all workers are expected to be able to follow shift rotation.

Pay Rate = £14.51 p/hour, weekly payments - every Friday.
