Role OverviewWe are looking for a passionate and proactive Volunteer Content Creation Officer to help raise awareness of our work through local, regional and national media.
You will play a key role in sharing powerful stories, increasing our visibility, and helping us reach more young people and families who need support.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in PR, media, communications or the charity sector to gain hands‑on experience and make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and develop compelling story ideas based on Fresh Futures’ work
- Draft press releases, media pitches and statements, alongside news articles for our website
- Build and maintain a list of media contacts (local, regional and sector press)
- Proactively pitch stories to:
- Newspapers and online media
- Radio and TV programmes
- Trade and sector publications
- Support the coordination of media interviews and opportunities
- Help gather case studies and impact stories (with appropriate safeguarding measures)
- Monitor and track media coverage and outcomes and website engagement
- Work closely with staff to ensure messaging is clear, accurate and impactful
- A strong writer with the ability to tell engaging, human stories
- Interested in PR, journalism, or communications
- Confident communicating with a range of stakeholders
- Organised and able to work independently
- Passionate about supporting children, young people and families
- Previous experience in PR, media, marketing or journalism
- Understanding of the media landscape (especially regional press)
- Experience using social media or digital communications tools
- Practical experience in public relations and media outreach

The RoleBrian Jackson College is seeking a committed and compassionate Outreach Worker to support young people ages 13‑18 who are experiencing emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), anxiety, SEMH needs or disengagement from education.
This is a highly relational, community‑based role, where you will work directly with young people in their homes and local environments to rebuild trust, re‑engage them with learning and support successful reintegration into education or alternative pathways.
You will act as a key trusted adult, working closely with families, educational settings and external agencies to remove barriers and improve outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Why the role exists and overall responsibilityThis role exists to support some of the most vulnerable young people who are currently unable to access education due to a number of SEND‑related barriers. This is a highly autonomous role requiring confidence in lone working, strong professional judgement and a commitment to safeguarding, as you carry responsibility for delivering impactful support in community and home environments.
Main activities- Deliver home based and community outreach support, including doorstep check‑ins and online engagement
- Build strong, trusting relationships with young people who may be anxious, disengaged or avoidant.
- Support re‑engagement in education through flexible, personalised approaches.
- Work closely with families to develop routines, improve attendance, and build confidence.
- Collaborate with the schools SEN team and multi‑agency partners.
- Monitor and report on progress relating to attendance, wellbeing and engagement.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, record keeping and professional practice.
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEND, EBSA or school disengagement
- Skilled in building strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people
- Understands trauma informed and relational approaches
- Is confident working independently in community settings
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Experience in outreach, alternative provision or mentoring
- Knowledge of SEND and EHCP process
- Background in youth work, education, mental health or social care

The RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic Learner and Behaviour Support Worker to join our team working directly our pupils, some of which are in receipt of an education health and care plan (EHCP), within a specialised social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) provision. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting 13-16 year olds both academically and socially to support our organisation’s mission
Why the role exists and overall responsibility- Provide support to young people with social emotional and mental health needs to help reduce barriers to learning, improve attainment and educational outcomes
- To implement behavioural interventions to support engagement and promote self-confidence and improve emotional wellbeing of all pupils
Pupil/client facing
- Assist with pupils social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs with guidance from the Nurture Manager and Inclusion Manager
- Contribute to the delivery of successful lessons by providing supporting to tutors
- Encourage pupils to remain engaged in their education whilst promoting positive behaviour
- Support pupils during offsite visits and vocational educational activities
- Promote independence and life skills through student led activities
- Assist and support pupils with the development of key life skills
- To work proactively with new pupils assisting in a successful transition to Brian Jackson College
- To assist in the development, implementation, review, monitoring and evaluation of behavioural improvement and support plans
