Role Purpose
To manage the professional delivery of corporate governance across GEDU including providing high-quality servicing for the Board of Directors, Executive Boards, and the Standing Committees of the Boards. To assist the Head of Governance leading the ongoing development of governance processes and procedures keeping informed by the relevant national and international directives, policy developments and good practice.
Role and Responsibilities- Lead with the planning and co-ordination of the Governance calendar.
- Ensure reporting deadlines are met in line with the Boards and Committee’s term of reference.
- Provide high quality and accurate advice and guidance on governance that is based on an up-to-date understanding of a broad range of issues, systems and processes, best practice and frameworks.
- Provide high quality secretariat support to senior boards and committees, assuring the quality and timeliness of agendas and minutes and their distribution, and following up on actions.
- With the Head of Governance, lead the elections to senior committees.
- Actively promote risk management best practice and embedding risk management throughout the organisation.
- Take on any special projects or assist the Head of Governance as required.
- Provide high quality communications between the Governance Team and Gedu Institutions, Directors, and senior members of the organisation.
- Provide high quality secretariat support to Boards and Committees including distribution of agendas, minutes and actions.
- Work closely with the Head of Governance and the senior leadership team to ensure regulatory compliance is met.
- Act as liaison between corporate and academic governance teams.
- Line manage and support the Governance Officer.
- Develop a network of influence with senior GEDU officers and external peers.
- Provide high quality written and oral reports, as required, to the Head of Governance, CEO and other senior staff at GEDU.
- Maintain governance registers including policies ensuring reviews and approvals are conducted where needed.
Key relationships are with the Head of Governance, Provost, International Provost, Executive Boards, Academic Boards, Group Chief Finance Officer, Chief Operating Officer, CEO and Deputy CEO of GEDU and its partner organisations.
Essential Skills and Experience- Excellent understanding of HE governance, including academic and corporate governance.
- Excellent written skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Willing to travel to UK and European Campuses.
- Governance related qualifications, or the willingness to work towards qualifications in corporate governance.
- Knowledge or experience in risk management.

Role OverviewThe purpose of this role is to provide guidance and support to GBS students in their learning, well‑being and engagement throughout their studies. Your key task will be to address student well‑being by pastoral support and by guiding students to services appropriate to their needs. GBS Well‑Being Officers can expect to be among the first members of staff to be approached by students needing assistance with a variety of issues. You must know all services and academic programmes offered by GBS, as well as appropriate external agencies, and be ready to refer students to appropriate services. The Student Well‑Being Officer reports into the Student Well‑Being Manager.

Responsibilities- Managing student referrals in partnership with the Student Well‑Being Manager, acting as a link between the Well‑Being Office, the relevant academic team and relevant internal and external services.
- Providing pastoral support to students who may be experiencing social or emotional issues. Ensuring students with personal learning plans receive the learning accommodations outlined in the plan and that these are addressed in the classroom.
- Maximising the attendance of students by working alongside the student engagement managers to support students effectively throughout their studies.
- Providing immediate assistance to students on a drop‑in and appointment basis.
- Maintaining accurate student Well‑Being records and information and ensuring confidential records are held and shared in line with GDPR requirements.
- Assisting with the organisation of health and well‑being social activities and events for students.
- Bachelor’s degree in the relevant area, preferably health related.
- Prior experience in an adjacent or similar role, preferably within higher education.
- Knowledge of the DDA, SENDA and how to implement their guidelines.
- Knowledge of the JCQ and the range of reasonable adjustments that may apply to students with learning differences and individual needs.
- Experience working with a range of physical disabilities and specific learning difficulties encountered in mainstream settings such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, attention deficit and Asperger’s syndrome.
- Experience of selecting and using appropriate assessment materials, scoring results, converting raw scores to derived scores, analysing results, drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
- Ability to discuss students’ needs in a sensitive manner and to plan a programme of additional support to facilitate outcomes of personal targets and tutor targets.
