We are seeking an experienced Head of Governance & Regulatory Compliance to continue the great work of the current postholder as we grow and develop the business.

As Head of Governance & Regulatory Compliance you will provide high‑quality company secretariat, governance and regulatory compliance services, ensuring Grosvenor Hart Homes’ governance is efficient, effective and fully meets regulated requirements. You will directly support all Board and committee meetings and coordinate all advice on governance, legal and regulatory matters.

Key Role Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility for GHH governance and regulatory compliance, ensuring GHH meets the highest standards in governance, probity and full compliance.
  • Act as the key contact with the Regulator of Social Housing and other relevant regulatory organisations.
  • Oversee all arrangements for Board and Committee meetings, including annual governance and regulatory reviews, and take high‑quality minutes.
  • Develop and oversee appropriate controls and procedures that provide relevant levels of assurance to the Board.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Established Company Secretary and/or relevant degree‑level qualification and experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the RSH Regulatory Framework and lead on regulatory returns.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and people‑management skills, including experience in working effectively with Boards of Management and Committees.

The role can be based at our Chester or London office, with occasional travel between offices. The role will have a split focus – working with our Recruiter to provide excellent recruitment support and with the HR Operations Team to provide HR administrative support across our business groups. This role is a great opportunity for someone seeking to start their career in HR with opportunities to learn the basics and get involved in a variety of HR activities. You will need to be prepared to get stuck in and work in a fun but fast paced and high-performance environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment Support: candidate attraction and marketing of vacancies, candidate management and communications, interview and assessment process, support early careers recruitment including internships, graduates and apprentices, design and management of work experience activities, monitoring and updating of our applicant tracking system.
  • HR Operations Support: reference checking, onboarding, production of employment related letters and monitoring of key employment dates and milestones, liaison with new joiners and current employees to ensure an efficient and customer‑focused solution to queries and requests, production of relevant reports and data analysis, support for any HR initiatives, other HR Operations work and HR projects and improvements including use of AI to make processes more efficient.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade 4 or above and at least two A levels (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in HR is not required but a real interest in business and HR with enthusiasm to develop knowledge, skills and expertise.
  • Customer service attitude, comfortable dealing with candidates, external stakeholders and those from all levels across the business.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Proactive, innovative thinker interested in solving problems and process improvement; an interest in AI and HR technology would be beneficial.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and discretion while working in a collaborative environment.
