Your New Role
As a CDD Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing client due diligence and onboarding activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
You will also provide guidance to junior team members, contribute to policy development, and act as a trusted advisor on client onboarding and compliance-related matters.
* Manage and oversee the end-to-end client onboarding and CDD process.
* Review client due diligence documentation and assess AML/KYC requirements.
* Conduct risk assessments on new and existing clients, including complex ownership structures.
* Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on onboarding and compliance matters.
* Escalate high-risk cases and assist with enhanced due diligence reviews.

What You'll Need to Succeed
* Previous experience within Client Due Diligence (CDD), AML, KYC, Client Onboarding or Risk & Compliance.
* Strong understanding of UK AML regulations and client onboarding requirements.
* Experience reviewing complex ownership structures and undertaking risk assessments.
* The ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
* Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
* Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be advantageous.
* Experience gained within professional services, legal services, financial services, accountancy or a regulated environment is highly desirable.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chief Financial Accountant to join a well-established district council based in the beautiful coastal area of the East of England. This is a key technical finance role, leading on statutory accounts, external audit, treasury-related matters, financial governance, and supporting the organisation through Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance and Assets, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the council maintains the highest standards of financial stewardship and compliance.
You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the annual Statement of Accounts process and year-end closure programme.
  • Managing the relationship with external auditors and acting as the council's primary audit contact.
  • Coordinating the production of high-quality audit working papers and supporting documentation.
  • Providing expert technical accounting advice to senior officers, members, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards, CIPFA guidance and governance requirements.

Your new role

Your new role

This is a varied and highly visible role where you will lead customs compliance activities, ensuring adherence to UK, EU and international trade regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing import and export customs compliance, including classifications, valuations, origin and duty calculations.
*Maintaining customs controls, governance frameworks and compliance management systems.
*Leading internal audits and supporting external regulatory reviews.
*Managing relationships with customs brokers, logistics providers and regulatory authorities.
*Monitoring regulatory changes and implementing process improvements.
*Producing compliance reporting, risk assessments and management information.
*Maintaining customs accreditations and authorisations.
*Driving process improvement, automation and compliance awareness across the business.
*Providing expert customs guidance to operational, finance and commercial stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

*Experience within customs, international trade or regulatory compliance.
*Strong knowledge of UK and EU customs regulations, and customs procedures.
*Experience working with customs or ERP systems.
*A strong understanding of compliance controls, governance and audit processes.
*Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
*A proactive approach with a keen eye for detail and continuous improvement.
