About you
Are you a seasoned Bid Writer with experience managing private and public sector bids in the UK and North America? At Heywood, we’re a market leader in the world of pensions administration, and we’re looking for a successful Bid Writer to join our busy team.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is skilled in persuasive writing about software and technology solutions
- Has the ability to translate subject matter expertise into a compelling, client-friendly narrative
- Has strategic thinking and a sales mindset supporting the production of winning submissions.
The role
As bid writer, working with the Business Support function, your primary focus is supporting Heywood’s growth. Working with colleagues across technical, consulting, product and sales to translate Heywood’s capabilities into clear, evidence-based written proposals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Read and analyse tender documents and identify compliance requirements
- Work with cross-discipline teams and SMEs to obtain input and convert it into well-written, crafted answers
- Write, edit, and quality check tender responses against question requirements, word counts, and evaluator criteria
- Maintain a repository of reusable bid content, case studies, and evidence
- Apply outcomes from evaluator feedback to improve future bids
- Produce and maintain bid support, corporate, and proposition collateral
- Manage multiple live bids simultaneously.

The role
As an Implementation Consultant, your role involves delivering and configuring software solutions for our customers, providing UAT support, writing ad-hoc scripts, building bespoke interfaces, ensuring processes and documentation are updated and using a variety of technical skills to deliver strong professional service to customers.
You will provide training both internally and externally and perform testing on Heywood’s new product modules as required. Additionally, providing third line support our Service Desk team on an ad hoc basis.
You will have…
- A track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet customer deadlines
- Skills to build strong relationships with customers
- Advanced SQL coding skills (any version, but we use Oracle)
- Experience coding in at least one dynamic scripting language (e.g., Python, Node JS, PowerShell or Apache Groovy)
- Business reporting intelligence experience (using tools like BIRT, Tableau or Power BI)
- Knowledge of REST APIs and standard HTTP methods and data migration; either using in-house tools or scripting migrations
- Experience using SFTP servers to transfer data extracts for migrations
- Proven background of tracking spend on projects against agreed budgets, producing project documentation for customer sign-off and presenting at user groups, webinars and testing parties
- Some experience within third line support, testing and customer training

Are you a highly skilled and proactive Infrastructure Engineer with a passion for problem-solving? We're looking for an experienced technical professional to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and evolving our infrastructure.
In this role, you'll provide 3rd line support and tackle complex technical challenges. You'll need proven experience with installation, migration, and configuration of systems, as well as the ability to effectively troubleshoot complex server, application, and compatibility issues .
We're looking for someone who can clearly and concisely explain technical concepts to diverse audiences. You should also be highly organised, meticulous with documentation, and adept at managing multiple priorities and complex incidents through to successful resolution.
The Role
As a Technical Consultant at Heywood, you will be a critical point of contact for our customers, ensuring the successful deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of Heywood's applications on both on premise servers and private cloud servers, ensuring smooth integration and optimal performance.
What you'll do:
- Provide 3rd line technical support to on premise and hosted customers, prioritising incidents
- Take full ownership of complex customer incidents and problems, managing them to resolution while keeping customers and stakeholders clearly informed
- Perform installations, migrations, and configurations of Heywood developed software on customer on-premises servers and private cloud environments, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Offer valuable guidance and recommendations to customers on the infrastructure and hardware requirements needed for optimal Heywood software performance
- Create and maintain comprehensive internal documentation for all installation and migration processes
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues related to server configurations, application installation, or software compatibility
- Stay up-to-date with Heywood product developments, industry trends, emerging technologies, to provide informed recommendations to customers
- Provide expert advice and guidance on best practices for Heywood software installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers throughout installation and migration projects, offering dedicated technical support and assistance
