This is an Expression of Interest to join Stantec as a Project Planner in our Major Projects Delivery team.
Responsibilities- Instrumental in all project phases—from pre-construction and design to final delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Collaborate with a national team of project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
You will have the opportunity to work on Southern Water’s Professional Services Framework and Thames Water’s Asset, Capital & Engineering Framework.
The role can be based from any of our offices in the region, including London, Reading, High Wycombe, Southampton, Brighton, King’s Hill & Cambridge.
About YouYou will be highly skilled in managing complex projects & programmes using Primavera P6 and have the ability to lead programmes autonomously providing value through consulting. You will be happy working collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders and have the capability to share your knowledge and mentor less experienced colleagues.
- Experience managing change within D&C in P6 in accordance with the contract and client requirements.
- Solid understanding of D&C sequencing and interfaces.
- Familiarity with NEC 3 and NEC 4 contracts.
- Previous experience in the water sector is beneficial but not essential.

Murphy is recruiting for a Commercial Manager to work with Energy on Kentish Town with travel to various sites across Greater London.
Responsibilities- Manage all commercial aspects of the Project and maintain regular liaison with all stakeholders.
- Monthly Cost and Value Reconciliation reviews.
- Manage project contractual change including variations, contractor’s claims and the early warning process.
- In conjunction with the Project Director, manage the project risk register and ensure mitigation measures are reviewed and implemented in a timely manner.
- Manage and support the project commercial team on a daily basis.
- Oversee project procurement, ensuring commercial advantageous procurement for the business.
- Maximising of cash position, including WIP control, cash flow production & improvement plans.
- Manage contractor’s cost on a weekly basis, ensuring full understanding of all costs each week. Relaying cost performance information to the construction team to ensure project continually improves the estimated final margin.
- Along with the Project Director and Planning Manager, assist in management of the programme.
- Continually seek to improve the project performance commercially, including margin betterment, change control capture and avoidance of risks.
- Manage project controls including value, cost, production and supply chain.
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.
- Commercially astute with substantial experience within a commercial role in the Civil Engineering / Construction Industry.
- Expert knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract such as NEC.
- Understanding of programming techniques and project controls.

This is an opportunity to take charge of roads and drainage infrastructure projects from feasibility stages through to completion. The role is crucial to the successful delivery of their projects and provides a progression path to senior management.
Responsibilities- Reporting to the technical director, you will provide design, technical advice and management support culminating in the successful delivery of roads and drainage infrastructure.
- You will help to direct, support and mentor junior engineers and check the quality of their work.
- Your involvement will span the whole design and development process, including; providing advice at land purchasing stages, the management of detail design, design input, overseeing the adoption process, monitoring of projects on site and technical advice during construction.
An independently owned developer that has been trading successfully for over fifty years. Their developments are predominantly in London and the home counties. Their reputation for quality is long established, it has been achieved through careful control of the whole development process. Integral to this is a technical services division, providing architectural and civil engineering expertise on projects from inception through to completion. An ongoing programme of training and development is in place for all staff and they run an ICE approved training scheme.
Profile RequiredIncorporated or chartered (or on course to achieving chartership) with the ICE, CIWEM, or an equivalent body. Your background should have a focus on the design and delivery of developer led roads and drainage infrastructure. A consulting engineering background is preferred, this should include experience of managing junior engineers, allocating work and checking completed designs. A good understanding of the design and adoption process for roads and drainage. There will be regular site visits, a valid UK driving licence is required.
