The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced Test Engineer with proven experience consulting as a Test Engineer on modern web-based services for the Government Digital Services (GDS) platform.


You will be joining a delivery team working on high-quality, user-centred digital services, where you will work closely with developers, product owners and delivery colleagues to ensure services are robust, accessible, secure and performant.


This role will suit someone with strong automation, API testing, accessibility and security testing experience, who is comfortable working in an Agile environment.


Skills and Experience:

Essential:

Strong hands-on experience with:

  • BrowserStack (cross-device/browser testing)
  • Ruby
  • Cucumber / Gherkin (BDD)
  • Selenium
  • API testing (REST, Postman/Newman)

Role and Responsibilities:

You will be consulting on meaningful digital services with real user impact, collaborating with experienced, multi-disciplinary delivery teams.

Performing accessibility testing using tools such as WAVE and Pa11y and conducting security testing using OWASP ZAP and Dependency Check.


Validating RESTful APIs using Postman or Newman, along with using browser developer tools (Lighthouse, JavaScript debug console, etc.) to support functional and non-functional testing.


Collaborating effectively within Agile delivery teams, contributing to continuous improvement of testing practices whilst maintaining test code, documentation and version control using Git, GitHub or GitLab.

You will contribute towards:

  • Current-state technical assessments
  • Service onboarding and transition planning
  • Enterprise Data Platform architecture reviews
  • Data integration and analytics capability assessments
  • Cloud architecture recommendations
  • Technical governance and assurance activities
  • Future-state roadmap development


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical discovery activities across multiple transformation programmes
  • Assess existing cloud, data and application architectures
  • Produce architecture assessments, recommendations and target-state designs
  • Define architecture principles, standards and governance approaches

We are supporting a confidential public sector organisation in the search for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to join a high-profile digital transformation programme on an initial 6-month contract basis.


One role will focus on leading a Discovery phase programme and the other is an Alpha phase delivery workstream for a nationally significant digital health initiative, operating within a Government Digital Service (GDS) environment.


The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to shape, validate and deliver user-centred digital services that support critical public health and operational outcomes.
