Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinical trials coordinator with a health service background to coordinate the Paediatric Nephrology research portfolio at RMCH and the University of Manchester. The role is hybrid, requiring knowledge and experience in clinical trials coordination, delivery, and monitoring, as well as experience obtaining informed consent for research.

• Act as the main point of contact for the Paediatric Nephrology research team, collaborating with the Trust Research Office, clinical colleagues, service support departments within MFT, and pharmaceutical companies.
• Ensure that high‑quality, efficient administrative processes are in place and followed for the set‑up and coordination of studies, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and the regulatory framework.
• Support the successful delivery of the research portfolio, including patient‑facing activity to aid recruitment and trial conduct.
• Maintain knowledge of research governance, related legislation, inspection requirements and NHS governance and approval systems.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating effective organisational and communication skills and the ability to handle a demanding workload.

• Health service background with experience in clinical research and clinical trials coordination.
• Experience obtaining informed consent for research, or willingness to undertake training.
• Sound knowledge of research governance, legislation, inspection requirements and NHS approval systems.
• Excellent IT skills and the ability to work on several projects concurrently.

Successful candidates will join the Ageing and Complex Health Directorate within the Medicine Division, working across Wythenshawe Hospital and Trafford General Hospital. MFT’s neck of femur service is nationally recognised for excellent outcomes and consistently low mortality rates. The successful candidate will work within a well‑established multidisciplinary team across both sites.

These posts offer significant opportunities for service development within the North Manchester neck of femur unit, Silver Trauma services at WTWA, and Bone Health services. Successful candidates will be supported to complete the King's Fund New Consultant Leadership Programme and will benefit from mentorship within both the Ageing and Complex Health Directorate and the Trauma and Orthopaedic Division. There are also opportunities to develop interests in education, leadership, governance and digital innovation.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the general medical on‑call rota at WTWA.

The post holder will be part of a dynamic and innovative trauma and orthopaedic team which is looking to appoint a keen and enthusiastic Consultant Ortho-geriatrician. The post holder will work closely with Trauma team to support fractured neck of femur surgery on site. The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team approach alongside of medical staff/doctors, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.

• Seeing any unwell adult patients as requested by the orthopaedic team. These patients are usually directly referred by the FY1 Doctors.


• Providing advice about the medical care of patients on the ward.


• Working with and supervising the Speciality Doctors / to ensure that patients receive care to the standard required by the Best Practice Tariff and the National Hip Fracture Database. This will include: a) Ensuring patients are seen by an Ortho geriatrician (Consultant, Speciality Doctor o) within 72 hours of admission b) Completing the standardised falls and osteoporosis assessment documents c) Attending daily \"board rounds\" / multidisciplinary team meetings.( Working with and supervising the Specialist Nurse for Inpatient Osteoporosis to arrange osteoporosis investigations and treatment


• Talking to patients’ relatives concerning medical problems and end of lifecare.


• Communicating about patient care with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (including surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, trauma coordinators, and therapists).


• Ensuring GPs are made aware of changes to long term medication (and the reasons for the changes).


• Other clinical interests e.g. outpatient clinics could be developed depending on the interests of the postholder.

Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We are seeking doctors wishing to gain more experience in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a level expected of an ST3+ trainee, working closely with the Consultants and multidisciplinary team. These posts have been designed so that the successful candidate will gain invaluable experience whilst working in busy tertiary and secondary care settings.

There are 2 posts based at ORC and 1 post based at NMGH.

• Work on the Tier 2 on-call rota, taking on responsibilities equivalent to those of an ST3+ trainee.
• Be supervised by a consultant and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Respect the roles of others within the team and communicate with them appropriately.
• Participate in sessions that may include antenatal clinic, delivery suite, gynaecology outpatients, gynaecology theatre, emergency gynaecology assessment unit, or other specialist sessions, depending on the individual job description.
