A Day in the Life

The Pelvic Health Territory Manager will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, defending existing business, and generating new patient growth within an assigned region through the sale and promotion of InterStim (the brand name for Medtronic’s sacral neuromodulation portfolio). The role will also ensure existing accounts are managed effectively by supporting procedures, managing inventory, and upselling appropriate services and programmes. The individual will build and develop strong relationships with all relevant external stakeholders, while working collaboratively with the team’s Business Development Manager, Technical Consultants, Marketing, Operations, and other Sales colleagues within Pelvic Health and across Medtronic to drive business growth, revenue, and profitability. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Key accounts/hospitals include those in Newcastle, Hull, and Leeds, which represent the geographical boundaries of the territory.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute account strategies and tactics across Northeast England and Yorkshire
  • Implement quarterly sales plans and achieve sales goals and objectives
  • Effectively manage territory inventory and work with Operations and Customer Care to ensure targets are met
  • Identify selling opportunities and work closely with the Pelvic Health organization to improve pelvic floor service efficiencies
  • Provide clinical implant support to theatre teams during sacral neuromodulation procedures
  • Participate in the development of employee and customer training and education programmes
  • Support and participate in regional events such as congresses and customer events
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Proven ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong team player with a track record of collaborative working
  • Experience in medical device or surgical sales
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Full UK driving licence

The Digital Technologies Business Unit (DTBU) at Medtronic is implementing cutting-edge AI technology, computer vision, and augmented reality in the operating room (OR) to augment surgical coaching, and eventually, performance. Our goal is to deliver safer surgery around the world. Our Touch SurgeryTM Video solution is an innovative video management and data analytics platform for hospitals that includes the DS1 Computer, our first OR device, allowing surgeons, OR team members, and trainees to securely access videos of their procedures shortly after surgery.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our software development lifecycle by designing and building automated test solutions that ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of our embedded and connected hardware platforms used in the operating room. This role focuses on testing device software, firmware integrations, and hardware-software interaction, rather than web or mobile applications.
You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams to embed quality at every stage, leverage modern automation frameworks, and help drive continuous improvement in our testing practices. **Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:**
+ Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and tools for device software, focusing on scalable, reusable solutions.
+ Collaborate with software engineers to define test scenarios, testable architectures, and drive quality through code.
+ Develop, implement and execute advanced test automation strategies for embedded, edge, and device-integrated systems (Android AOSP, Linux-based edge devices, IoT gateways), including validation of device drivers, connectivity modules, and firmware updates.
+ Analyse requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and protocols for a range of technologies, including service APIs (REST, IPC), WebUI, and over-the-air updates.
+ Contribute to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with automated quality gates.
+ Generate and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices for test, automation and quality engineering.
+ Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineers to validate device performance, connectivity, and stability under real-world operating conditions.
+ Must be able to commute frequently to London-based office; 3~5 days per week onsite.
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent international degree). 
+ Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in software automation and test development, or advanced degree with 2+ years relevant experience.
+ Strong proficiency in software development for test automation (Python, Java, or equivalent).
+ Hands-on experience with manual test management tools and test automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, Espresso, etc.).
+ Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
+ Device operating systems (Android, Linux). 
+ Service-oriented architecture (SoA), APIs (REST, IPC). 
+ Hands-on experience testing embedded or connected hardware devices, preferably involving edge computing or IoT systems.
+ Strong understanding of hardware-software interaction, debugging logs, and analysing system-level behaviour.
+ Familiarity with firmware validation, board bring-up testing, or similar.
+ Web-based interfaces, Internet-connected devices, OTA updates. 
+ Highly technical, hands-on, and passionate about product quality. 
+ Demonstrated ability to design and implement automated solutions, not just execute manual tests.
+ Self-starter, autonomous, and able to lead initiatives independently.
Experience with embedded device software development, hardware-in-the-loop testing, device connectivity (USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), and video streaming or imaging devices. Familiarity with medical device standards (IEC 62304) and safety-critical testing is a strong plus.

The Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager for the UK and Ireland is responsible for regulatory compliance, post-market surveillance, and quality system compliance to ISO 13485 for Medtronic Ltd. This role leads the UKI QRA team and serves as the primary contact with UK and Irish regulatory agencies, including the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA), and relevant Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies. The Manager provides regulatory expertise for local projects and ensures compliance with UK and EU requirements.

+ Lead and develop the UKI Quality & Regulatory Affairs team

There is a constant focus on innovation, supported by significant investment in R&D, resulting in a strong product pipeline with several new products and therapies expected in the coming years. Within the Structural Heart Operating Unit, customers include both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across the Midlands territory.
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:**
+ Own and deliver territory sales targets, driving revenue growth and market share for TAVI
+ Develop and execute account and therapy development plans aligned with regional strategy and national priorities
+ Identify, engage and influence key decision-makers (clinical and non-clinical), key opinion leaders and referral partners across the Midlands
+ Lead commercial discussions with procurement partners, including pricing strategies, contracting and account optimisation
+ Lead therapy education and pathway development initiatives to improve patient access, referral pathways and procedural outcomes
+ Train and educate hospital staff on Structural Heart therapies using approved resources
+ Provide technical support and training to implanting teams and Cath Lab staff
+ Manage consignment stock in line with all regulatory and quality requirements
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Proven experience in medical device sales
+ Strong background in Cardiovascular, Interventional Cardiology or Structural Heart - preferred
+ Experience providing procedural or Cath Lab support
+ Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and negotiation skills
+ Ability to operate effectively in complex clinical sales environments
+ Full UK driving licence

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM) Team responsible for sales & clinical education activities across the Perioperative Complications product range. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager you will work in conjunction with the Sales Specialists to protect, grow and execute sales targets, in line with the ACM strategy and business plan in Scotland.
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:**
+ Providing expert knowledge relating to Perioperative Complications focusing on BIS, INVOS and NOL within within Scotland to meet or exceed sales targets.
+ Developing, building and strengthening long-term relationships with relevant (clinical) stakeholders, KOL and local Ad Boards and societies in close collaboration with Account Managers, maximising existing sales opportunities.
+ Spending time in the OR working alongside our clinical stakeholders providing customer education on the safe and effective use of our products, clinical insights and sharing best practice throughout the region.
+ Business developing of both new and existing technologies through a combination of capital and consumables sales, whilst collaborating with Sales Specialists and Marketing to drive penetration, clinical awareness and acceptance.
+ Solution selling to the NHS and private hospitals within the defined area.
+ Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Medtronic and competitor solutions in the UK; proactively communicating news to the sales team, marketing and management teams.
+ Leading pre-purchase trials and evaluations, as well as instigation of product conversions.
**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Relevant experience in clinical selling
+ Proven track record of success in sales, market development or clinical training
+ Perioperative Complications clinical knowledge as well as industry knowledge
+ Strong network in the healthcare sector in Scotland
+ Capacity for Business development
+ Clear and assertive communication and excellent presentation skills
An advanced degree or clinical education or Nursing background would be a clear advantage for this position.
