At NFU Mutual, you will join the Claims Validation Intelligence team within Customer Services, working with a specialist group of Researchers and Analysts to support insurance fraud identification, detection and prevention. The team plays a key role in providing intelligence that helps identify suspicious activity and supports investigation work across the business.
In this role, you will carry out research using open source, industry partner and internal data to produce clear, structured intelligence reports that support decision-making. You will work closely with Analysts, colleagues and industry partners to identify suspicious activity, uncover organised fraud networks and support intelligence-led investigations.
You will manage multiple pieces of work, balancing proactive and reactive research activity while ensuring all information is handled in line with regulatory and data protection requirements. Your work will contribute directly to protecting customers and businesses from fraud. Where appropriate, you will collaborate with Analysts and wider stakeholders to support the progression of intelligence opportunities and investigations.
This is a full-time role with part-time options considered, based from our Bristol or Stratford-upon-Avon. The role operates on a hybrid basis, with 80% homeworking and 20% office-based working.
About youYou bring strong research skills, sound judgement and a structured approach to handling information. You can identify relevant findings, recognise patterns and potential links, and produce clear, concise intelligence reports that support operational decision-making.
You work collaboratively with others, building effective relationships and communicating confidently with a range of stakeholders.
You are organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and take a proactive approach to problem solving while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements- Experience in an intelligence, research, analyst or claims investigation role within a regulated environment.
- Strong experience of gathering, assessing and structuring information from a range of open and closed data sources.
- Proven ability to produce clear and structured written reports.
- Understanding of intelligence research methodologies. Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) would be advantageous.
- Experience using tools such as Microsoft Excel or Power BI would be desirable.

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a diligent Insurance Commercial Underwriter to join our New Business team as a Senior Commercial Underwriter where you’ll be responsible for evaluating and assessing complex risks across a variety of business classes, including our Motor Trade, Farm, Estates and Commercial Select products as well as being a point of referral for less experienced team members.
