Introduction

A Motor Mechanic Apprentice (Level 3) services and repairs light vehicles and works either in dealerships or independent garages. Work ranges from replacing simple parts to solving complex faults. Holder of a Level 2 qualification with 6 months+ garage experience, can have the opportunity to earn a salary and gain a Level 3 qualification.

NORTH LONDON GARAGES GTA is offering a Mechanics Apprenticeship Programme. You will be employed full-time in a garage and attend college one day each week on our Level 2 motor vehicle programme, with progression to Level 3 on completion.

This course provides hands-on mechanical skills, a welcoming learning environment, and one-on-one mentorship from experienced industry professionals to help you thrive in the automotive sector.

The employer will be a local garage in your area, which we will work with you to identify and secure. You will spend four days gaining hands‑on experience in the workplace, developing practical skills and learning about the day‑to‑day operations of the automotive industry. This placement is designed to help build your confidence, experience, and employability.

You will be employed full time in a garage and attend college one day each week on our Level2 motor vehicle programme with progression to Level3 on completion. This course will provide: hands‑on mechanical skills through practical training, a welcoming and supportive learning environment, and one‑on‑one mentorship & guidance from experienced industry professionals.

Following the completion of your Intermediate Apprenticeship (18 months), we recommend that you continue onto an advanced apprenticeship (12 months) to become a fully qualified Light Vehicle Technician. From there you can progress to roles such as MOT Tester, Senior Technician or Workshop Manager.
