About the Role

Perfect Recruitment are currently supporting a busy and stylish Bar & Restaurant in Manchester City Centre who are seeking an experienced Acting General Manager to join their team on an initial 3-month temporary booking, with the potential for the position to become permanent for the right person.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a well-established, high-volume venue with a strong team already in place. The successful candidate will provide leadership, operational support and ensure the continued delivery of excellent service standards across the business.

The venue offers a vibrant and fast-paced environment, ideal for an experienced hospitality manager who enjoys leading teams and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As Acting General Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, motivating and developing the existing team
  • Overseeing the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of customer service
  • Managing rotas, team performance and operational requirements
  • Monitoring stock levels, ordering and stock control procedures
  • Supporting cost control and commercial performance
  • Ensuring company standards, processes and procedures are followed
  • Handling customer feedback and resolving any issues professionally
  • Working closely with the management team to maintain a positive venue culture

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional with a strong background in management, ideally within a busy bar, restaurant, café, or similar high-volume environment.

You will have:

  • Previous experience operating at General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Assistant Manager or similar level
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience managing teams within a fast-paced hospitality setting
  • Good understanding of stock control, ordering and operational procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills with a commercial mindset
  • The ability to quickly adapt and take ownership of a venue

The Package

  • £18.00–£25.00 per hour
  • Additional service charge
  • Initial 3-month temporary assignment
  • Potential to transition into a permanent role
  • Predominantly retail-style working hours
  • Venue closing at approximately 9pm
  • Opportunity to join a popular Manchester City Centre venue with a strong team in place
