About Us
Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is the intelligent platform for travel and spend management. Built to tackle the time‑consuming, manual work that gets in the way of real work, our tools automate everything from travel bookings to expenses, invoice processing, and more. By eliminating this shadow work that wastes hours, erodes morale, and saps innovation, we’re on a mission to power real work, with real impact.
We’re trusted by more than 10,000 companies worldwide, including Wise, On Running, Breitling, and Fabletics, and we’re tackling the 7 hours of lost productivity per employee each week a $1.7 trillion problem.
Founded in 2015, Perk has grown into a global company of more than 1,800 people across 12 offices, with headquarters in London and Boston.
At Perk, we’re driven by our values, like being an owner, delivering a 7-star experience, and working as one team. We value curiosity, purpose, and mindset, not just knowledge, to unlock the power in your potential.
Visit to learn more.
About the RolePerk is a fast‑scaling B2B travel booking and expense management platform. Our Finance team runs on a growing stack of interconnected systems, and we need a hands‑on, strategically‑minded operator to own it.
As Senior Manager, Finance Systems, you will be the internal expert and accountable owner of our entire finance technology ecosystem – with NetSuite at its core. You will partner closely with Accounting, Strategic Finance, and Engineering to optimise how our systems operate, integrate, and scale. This is a high‑impact, high‑visibility role for someone who wants to be the person who makes finance run better.
What You’ll Do NetSuite — Core Ownership- Serve as the primary system administrator and functional lead for NetSuite ERP
- Manage configuration, customisation (SuiteScript, SuiteFlow, SavedSearches), and release management
- Own the NetSuite integration landscape, including connections to upstream and downstream systems
- Drive the AR/AP, GL, and close‑process optimisation agenda within NetSuite
- Lead system remediation initiatives (e.g., unapplied cash cleanup, open document resolution)
- Manage and optimise the broader finance tech stack including evaluating new AI tools
- Own the systems roadmap – evaluate new tooling, lead vendor negotiations, and retire legacy processes
- Drive system integration projects end‑to‑end, partnering with Engineering where required
- Own IT general controls across finance systems as part of the SOX programme
- Manage user access reviews, segregation of duties, and provisioning/deprovisioning workflows
- Act as the primary liaison for auditor (Deloitte) and advisory (PwC) queries on systems and data
- Maintain SOC report inventory and annual review process for all finance system vendors
- Lead systems implementation and upgrade projects from scoping through go‑live
- Identify and execute automation opportunities that reduce manual effort in the close cycle
- Build and maintain systems documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and runbooks
- Partner with Accounting and FP&A to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions
- 7+ years of finance systems experience, with at least 4 years as a NetSuite administrator or functional lead
- Demonstrable hands‑on NetSuite configuration experience: workflows, custom records, SuiteScript, saved searches, and reporting
- Track record of owning cross‑system integration projects from requirements through delivery
- Solid understanding of core accounting processes (close cycle, AR/AP, consolidation) – enough to speak credibly with controllers and auditors
- Experience supporting SOX IT general controls or equivalent audit‑facing compliance work
- Strong project management instincts: able to run multiple workstreams, communicate status clearly, and flag blockers early
- Ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment with limited hand‑holding
- NetSuite certification (Administrator, ERP Consultant, or equivalent)
- Experience with HiBob, Okta, LeaseQuery, or Carta in a finance context
- Exposure to multi‑entity, multi‑currency environments
- Familiarity with SaaS or B2B travel/expense tech
- Experience working alongside Big 4 auditors on systems and data queries
This role is not a ticket‑taker. You will be expected to bring a point of view, push back when requirements are incomplete, and proactively surface problems before they become audit findings. The right person is equally comfortable in a configuration screen and a CFO meeting – and sees the connection between the two.
- You are genuinely energised by fixing broken processes, not just maintaining working ones
- You communicate technical issues in plain language without being asked to
- You have strong ownership instincts – if something is wrong in your systems, you find out before the auditors do
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and can set your own priorities when direction is incomplete
- You thrive in scale‑up environments where the roadmap is built as you go
- Competitive compensation and equity ownership in Perk
- 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
- Private medical cover and voluntary dental insurance from Bupa, and discounted gym memberships with GymFlex
- Qualifying earnings company pension plan with Aviva
- Life Insurance protection for loved ones
- Income protection in case of long‑term sickness or absence
- Tax‑efficient cycle and electric car schemes
- Perk events and an annual summer party
- Wellbeing partner Spring Health – access to therapy and coaching sessions
- 12–16 weeks’ paid parental leave
- 16 paid hours per year for volunteering
- Up to 20 “Work from Anywhere” days per year
- Access to a wide variety of discounts and rewards
- Four‑week, fully paid sabbatical after 5 years
- Relocation support for hub moves
AI is embedded in how we work across every function. The tools you’ll use day‑to‑day are AI‑enabled, so you can move faster and spend more time on the work that matters. In practice, that means using AI to research and prioritise work, synthesise information, and cut through shadow work. We don’t expect you to be an AI expert, but we do expect you to be curious and intentional about it.
How We WorkWe take an IRL‑first approach to work, where our team works together in‑person 3 days a week. This role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our hubs. For certain roles, we can help with relocation from anywhere in the world.
Equal Opportunity EmployerPerk is a global company with a diverse customer base, and we want to make sure the people behind our product reflect that. We’re an equal opportunity employer, which means you’re welcome at Perk regardless of how you look, where you’re from, or anything else that makes you, you.

Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Pay Sustainability Engineering team, you'll help drive the long-term reliability, scalability, and evolution of our payments, financial and billing ecosystems.
The team operates across two complementary tracks. The first focuses on firefighting and platform support, helping engineering teams navigate critical incidents, unblock complex technical challenges, and improve coordination across the broader payment infrastructure. Rather than acting as a delivery team for operational work, you'll provide technical leadership, platform-wide visibility, and guidance that helps teams resolve issues effectively and prevent recurring problems.
The second track focuses on medium- to large-scale sustainability initiatives across the payments domain. This includes identifying technical debt, platform limitations, architectural weaknesses, and product gaps that impact the long-term health of the ecosystem. You'll lead initiatives that improve the resilience, maintainability, and scalability of the platform through thoughtful refactors, system redesigns, and engineering improvements that create lasting impact.
As a senior engineer, you'll play a key role in defining what sustainability engineering means within the Pay organization. You'll partner closely with engineering and product teams to shape the value proposition of the function, prioritize high-impact opportunities, and provide technical direction across complex cross-functional initiatives.
Through strong technical leadership, systems thinking, and a focus on sustainable engineering practices, you'll help build a healthier, more scalable payments platform that enables teams to move faster with greater confidence.
Are you a Senior Software Engineer who thrives on real ownership? At Perk, we know that we feel most fulfilled when we can own the problem and the solution. This means taking responsibility for the entire lifecycle of a feature, from being part in understanding what our customers pains are with our product team, design documents, coding to deployment, and measuring impact. You will see how your technical decisions move the needle for our customers daily.
We prioritize autonomy and pragmatism, giving you the space to solve complex problems without unnecessary friction. Engineering excellence here is measured by the reliability and simplicity of the systems you build to power a global platform.
How We WorkAt Perk, we believe the best work happens when great people come together in small teams, with a shared sense of purpose. You'll join a cross-functional squad where you have real ownership of a piece of Perk's domains, a genuine say in what gets built, and the autonomy to make it happen. Each team to decide how to contribute to Perk's company goals. We care about impact, and we trust our people to deliver it.
AI is embedded in how we work and what we build. On the engineering side, it spans the whole workflow: our Notion, Jira, GitHub and Slack are AI-connected so you get up to speed fast, and day-to-day it helps with specifying features, writing and reviewing code, and automated AI PR review on every pull request. When something goes wrong in production, AI surfaces context across systems quickly. We also embrace agentic coding, using AI as an active collaborator, not just a prompt-by-prompt co-pilot.
We expect candidates to use AI tools in our coding interviews. The bar is understanding your code and owning what you produce. That reflects how we work every day.
Some examples of what it means to be a Senior at Perk- Shape the bigger picture. You won't just build features, you'll refine the what to build and why. At Perk, senior engineers are expected to go beyond the technical solution and focus on the problem itself. You'll contribute to your squad's quarterly goals and long-term vision alongside your Product Manager and Engineering Manager.
- Architect for today and tomorrow. When a big change is needed in how our platform works, you'll be the one writing the design documents that lay the foundation. You'll become a guardian of your team's technical quality; spotting areas of investment, proactively managing technical debt, and making sure we don't let "busy work" crowd out the work that truly matters. At Perk, we believe in impact over effort: our customers see results, not the hours behind them. Your job is to make sure we're always investing our energy where it counts most.
- Lead across boundaries. Your influence won't stop at your own squad. You'll communicate complex ideas across multiple teams, proactively identify who needs to be involved, and drive alignment across the broader organisation. Whether it's coordinating a cross-squad initiative, contributing to one of our engineering guilds (where engineers from different teams align on shared technical topics), or pairing with architects on solution discovery, you'll operate comfortably beyond your immediate team.
- Raise the bar for everyone around you. Senior engineers at Perk are mentors, coaches, and bar raisers. You'll support less experienced colleagues through direct mentorship, thoughtful feedback during reviews, and by modelling what great engineering looks like in practice. You'll help Engineering Managers understand where the team needs to grow technically, and you'll use spaces like guild meetings, design doc reviews, and pairing sessions to lift the overall standard. At Perk, we are a team, the team's success is your success.
- Product Leadership: Derives complex business goals into technical roadmaps; de-risks ambiguous projects through spikes and prototyping.
- System Architecture: Architects scalable, evolvable systems and data models that account for performance, failure isolation, and long-term maintenance.
- Technical Standards: Defines and upholds engineering excellence, including CI/CD optimisations, testing strategies, and coding standards across the stack.
- Frontend Strategy: Establishes frontend architecture patterns, including state management, performance budgets, and comprehensive testing (e.g., E2E/Cypress).
- Backend Excellence: Engineers sophisticated backend solutions involving API versioning, caching strategies, and complex data migration plans.
- Operational Maturity: Leads observability and SRE practices; defines SLOs, manages incident responses, and conducts blameless post-mortems.
- Security & Risk: Oversees operational security, including secrets hygiene and dependency risk management, to ensure a hardened production environment.
- Mentorship & Influence: Levels up the engineering organization through active mentorship, leading design reviews, and influencing the product roadmap with technical data.
- Cross-Functional Impact: Coordinates multi-team deliverables and aligns stakeholders to resolve technical blockers across the organization.
- AI-Driven Development: Experience with or a strong interest in modern AI-augmented workflows. This includes leveraging agentic workflows, developing custom agentic skills to extend AI capabilities, utilizing AI-powered code reviews.
At Perk, we take an IRL-first approach to work, where our team works together in-person 3 days a week. As such, this role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our hubs. We fundamentally believe in the value of meeting in real life to improve connectivity, productivity, creativity and ultimately make us a great place to work.
For certain roles, we can help with relocation from anywhere in the world, English is the official language at the office. Please submit your resume in English if you choose to apply.
Perk is a global company with a diverse customer base, and we want to make sure the people behind our product reflect that. We're an equal opportunity employer, which means you're welcome at Perk regardless of how you look, where you're from, or anything else that makes you, well, you.
