Overview
Portfolio Payroll is working with a leading business services organisation to bring in an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to support and strengthen their growing payroll function.
Responsibilities- Leading the monthly payroll cycle across a large, multi‑entity group
- Acting as the key escalation point for complex queries
- Ensuring full compliance across tax, pensions, benefits and employment legislation
- Supporting ongoing transformation, automation and process improvement activity
- Coaching and developing the wider payroll team
- Working closely with People, Finance and external partners to resolve payroll matters efficiently
- Proven background managing complex or high‑volume payrolls
- Strong knowledge of pay, tax, pensions and statutory requirements
- Confident using iTrent, Sage and advanced Excel
- Leadership experience with the ability to support and develop others
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills

- Building new client relationships
- Assist with processing of parallel runs
- Ensuring all run results balance with new customers' previous payroll provider
- Guide the customer on both service and system features
- Remaining clear and concise, always demonstrating excellent customer service.
