Job Description
As the PTO scales its commercial division, we are seeking a Sales Strategy Executive to support our commercial team by owning deck creation, proposal development, and partnership storytelling through data and insights. This is an integral part of working with our sales team to bring brand briefs to life and support the sales process from concept to close.
This role reports directly to our Commercial Strategy Manager.
Key Role Responsibilities Deck Creation & Commercial Storytelling- Build high-quality, client-ready sales decks and partnership presentations from internal briefs.
- Develop persuasive commercial narratives that go beyond feature-listing – connecting our proposition to client goals and market context.
- Turn rough ideas, bullet points, and scribbled notes into polished materials that represent the team at its very best.
- Proactively support the sales team with data-driven outreach, surfacing the right insight, at the right time, to nudge a prospect along the pipeline.
- Use a range of data sources to build compelling commercial stories that make our approach feel bespoke, relevant, and timely.
- Identify creative “nudge” moments; news hooks, category trends, competitor moves, that give the sales team a reason to reach out with something worth saying.
- Help shape partnership concepts that increase yield beyond standard media asset packages, thinking creatively about how brands can show up in more valuable ways.
- Contribute ideas during briefing and proposal stages, bringing a commercial and creative perspective to every opportunity.
- Use AI tools intelligently to accelerate research, drafting, formatting, and workflow, helping the team move faster without sacrificing quality.
- Act as the operational backbone of the sales process: organised, reliable, and always one step ahead of what’s needed next.
- Continuously look for ways to improve how we work, such as creating templates, processes, tools.
- 1-2 years in a sales support, partnerships, commercial strategy, account support, or proposal development role.
- Proven track record producing decks, pitch materials, or sponsorship proposals in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience working with data sets and turning outputs into compelling commercial stories.
- Comfortable with quick turnarounds and comfortable operating without a detailed brief.
- Outstanding storytelling and presentation-building ability.
- A creative thinker with a sharp commercial instinct.
- Strong written communication, clear, concise, and compelling across decks, emails, and proposals.
- High proficiency with AI tools and a genuine enthusiasm for using them in your daily workflow.
- Comfortable with data, be able to pull from multiple sources and translate numbers into a narrative that moves people.

We’re now looking for a commercially minded and highly collaborative FP&A Analyst to join our finance team and play a pivotal role in connecting our Events Operations with Finance. This person will help us track performance, model future scenarios, and turn data into actionable insights that support decision‑making across our global events calendar.
You’ll act as the bridge between our event delivery teams and the finance function – supporting budgeting, forecasting, post‑event analysis, and business case modelling. Your work will directly inform how we plan, deliver, and grow our event portfolio.
This role reports directly to our Finance Manager, based at our London HQ.
Key Role Responsibilities Business Partnering- Act as the primary finance partner, collaborating across teams to provide clarity, structure, and support on all financial matters, driving strategic decision‑making and performance.
- Support event planning with budget ownership, scenario modelling, and cash flow visibility
- Attend regular planning and debrief sessions with Ops to understand financial impact of decisions and help shape resourcing
- Lead monthly re‑forecasting of event costs in partnership with Event Leads, providing rolling forecasts that account for real‑time changes (e.g., permit fees, weather impacts, fluctuating attendance).
- Build and maintain comprehensive financial models for current and upcoming events, including detailed scenario planning and margin analysis.
- Track actuals vs. forecast with detailed variance analysis and commentary, ensuring visibility across Event level, Competition level (T100 / T50 / Challenger), and PTO Group level.
- Develop tools and trackers that help us monitor the performance of mass participation, commercial partnerships, and operations spend.
- Provide post‑event analysis to surface learnings and improve decision‑making for future races.
- Prepare high‑level dashboards using PowerBI highlighting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like Revenue / Cost Per Participant, Sponsorship Margin, YoY growth.
- Conduct post‑event financial reviews. Compare actual event spend against the budget, identifying why variances occurred and how to optimise costs for the next event cycle.
- Help streamline budgeting and reporting workflows between Finance and Events.
- Support the development of reporting templates and processes to make financial data more accessible across teams.
- Collaborate with the wider finance team on improvements to reporting systems and data integrity.
- Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and relevant finance/analytical degree is desirable.
- 2-4+ years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering – ideally within events, sport, entertainment, or a similar operationally complex environment.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and strong financial modelling ability.
- Ownership of Event Operations budgeting and forecasting process, with the opportunity to drive wider commercial strategy.
- Naturally collaborative and curious – you’re energised by working closely with non‑finance teams.
- Strong communicator, able to translate numbers into clear stories and make finance accessible to stakeholders.
- Self‑starter with a sharp attention to detail, but also able to zoom out and think strategically.
- Experience working in a startup or scale‑up environment is a plus.
- Exposure to accounting systems or BI tools (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, Power BI) a bonus, but not essential.
- Passion for sport, live events, or mission‑driven organisations is a nice‑to‑have.
