RGB Recruitment is working with a well-established contractor to recruit a Works Manager to oversee a growing portfolio of small works projects across the region, typically valued between a couple hundred thousand to 2 million.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of multiple small works projects from inception through to completion.
- Support business development and contribute to the continued growth of the division.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Oversee project programmes, budgets, procurement and resource planning.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met and projects are delivered in line with programme and budget.
- Manage tendering and pre-construction activities where required.
- Lead, motivate and develop project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
- Recruit, train and mentor staff to encourage continued professional development.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and industry standards.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices across the business.
- Resolve project and contractual issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Proven experience in a Works Manager, Contracts Manager or similar management role within the construction industry.
- Experience delivering construction projects valued up to 2 million.
- Strong leadership, organisational and decision-making skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Relevant construction qualifications, including SMSTS, First Aid at Work and a CSCS Card.
- Full UK driving licence.

- Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous.
