Key Responsibilities


  • Management Accounts:Full production of monthly management accounts with commercial analysis.

  • Strategic Support:Working with Directors to provide insights for business growth and decision-making.

  • Process Improvement:Evaluating and improving financial systems and internal controls.

  • Financial Planning:Managing the annual budget and maintaining regular cash flow forecasts.

  • Team Collaboration: Contributing to a high-performing team and supporting the wider business function.


Candidate Requirements


  • Experience:Significant experience as a Management Accountant within anSMEsetting.

  • Skills:Strong ability to improve systems and processes; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Communication:Capable of communicating financial performance clearly to the Board of Directors.

  • Qualification: ACCA, CIMA, ACA Qualified or Finalist. We will consider candidates who are Qualified by Experience if they have relevant experience.,

Are you a highly organised professional with a strong background in construction finance? RMErecruit is seeking a dedicated Office Manager (Accounts, Payroll & CIS) to join a dynamic team based in the Lisburn area.

This role beautifully blends traditional office management with core financial responsibilities. You will oversee a small accounts team, manage construction-specific compliance, and ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of our financial and administrative functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial & Compliance Management: Ensure strict compliance with the CIS scheme and all statutory filing obligations.

  • Payroll Oversight: Conduct high-level reviews of weekly payroll to ensure accuracy.

  • Cashflow & Costing: Prepare daily cashflow reporting and provide vital job costing reports to the wider finance team.

  • Systems & Upgrades: Play a key role in the upcoming implementation of a new ERP system.

  • Office Leadership: Manage daily office operations and lead a small, dedicated accounts team.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong technical knowledge of Sage Accounts / Payroll and Exchequer (or equivalent finance software).

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel for financial reporting.

  • Deep familiarity with construction industry financial operations (CIS, job costing).

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple financial deadlines.


Criteria

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing a small team.

  • Strong working knowledge of construction industry operations and compliance.

Desirable:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (IATI or equivalent).

  • CIS & Compliance Management: Take full ownership of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), ensuring strict compliance, accurate subcontractor verifications, deductions, and all monthly statutory filings.

  • Payroll Management: Oversee and conduct high-level reviews of the weekly payroll process to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

  • Project Costing & Cash Flow: Prepare daily cash flow reporting and provide vital job costing and project analysis to support the wider finance and project management teams.

  • Transactional Finance Oversight: Supervise the sales ledger, purchase ledger, and bank reconciliation processes.

  • Systems & ERP Implementation: Play a key role in the upcoming migration and implementation of a new ERP system.

  • Office & Team Leadership: Manage daily office administrative operations and lead a small, dedicated accounts support team.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong technical knowledge of Sage Accounts, Sage Payroll, and Exchequer (or equivalent accounting and payroll software).
