We are looking for a Technician to work on a permanent basis for a global client based in the Wigan area. Salary is c£32,200 per annum plus overtime, 22 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension, healthcare, company shutdown at Christmas etc.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and mix inks accurately to production specifications.
- Ensure inks are produced right first time using approved recipes and colour standards.
- Manage and reuse returned inks where appropriate to minimise waste.
- Operate in accordance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S and continuous improvement activities.
- Use colour measurement and quality control equipment to maintain colour accuracy.
- Record ink usage and returns within the production system.
- Assist production teams with on‑press colour adjustments when required.
- Support stock control, ink deliveries and inventory checks.
- Assist with maintaining ink room equipment and solvent recovery systems.
- Previous experience within a print, packaging or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with colour matching and print inks.
- Knowledge of colour measurement equipment (such as X‑Rite systems) is desirable.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
- Experience working to quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
