Our client is a high-growth, internationally operating consumer and leisure business and they are seeking to appoint a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive board. The company is profitable, ambitious, and at an inflection point, with continued organic growth alongside potential strategic initiatives including international expansion and M&A. This is a pivotal leadership role for a commercially minded CFO who enjoys operating close to the business, influencing strategy, and helping shape the next phase of growth within an entrepreneurial environment.
The RoleThe CFO will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, with full responsibility for financial leadership, performance insight, governance, and value creation. The role combines board-level influence with hands-on ownership of financial planning, control, and decision support.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Shaping and executing the group’s growth and capital strategy
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting across the business
- Providing clear insight into performance drivers, KPIs, risks, and opportunities
- Partnering on strategic initiatives including M&A, investment decisions, and international development
- Managing cash flow, working capital, funding structures, and banking relationships
- Ensuring robust financial controls, governance, and readiness for future transactions
- Overseeing FX exposure, international tax considerations, and transfer pricing
- Supporting and challenging senior leaders across commercial and operational functions
- The ideal candidate will be a proven senior finance leader with board-level experience in a scaling or entrepreneurial business.
- Strong academic and professional finance background
- Commercially astute, strategic, and comfortable working at pace
- Experience supporting M&A, complex transactions, or transformational initiatives
- Hands-on, detail-oriented when required, with the gravitas to influence senior stakeholders
- Able to build trust across teams, investors, lenders, and external partners
- Experience in consumer, leisure, travel, or service-led sectors is advantageous but not essential.

Our client is a fast-growing, VC-backed fintech business with exciting expansion plans. They are seeking a Finance Director who can act as a key strategic partner, while also being hands-on and customer-focused. This is a hybrid role requiring travel to Bristol at least 1-2 days a week.
Key responsibilities- Serve as a strategic partner and leader
- Provide financial insights and guidance as a trusted partner to the CEO and senior leadership team
- Lead the OKR process, ensuring goals are realistic and aligned with value creation
- Manage stakeholders and communicate effectively with the Board
- Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team
- Translate complex models into understandable tools for various audiences
- Develop financial strategies in collaboration with Product, People, Marketing, Support, Ops, and Data teams, focusing on customer value
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations
- Maintain customer economic models (CAC, LTV, payback, retention) to inform budgeting, forecasting, and growth strategies
- Manage quarterly and annual budgets, reforecasting, and scenario planning, adapting as the business scales and innovates
- Collaborate with functional leads to understand drivers of performance and enhance outcomes
- Define and track key metrics related to efficiency, retention, growth, and profitability
- Oversee finance operations, treasury, payroll, AP/AR, financial reporting, and compliance
- Implement robust financial controls and risk management practices to support sustainable growth
- Ensure financial systems are efficient, automated, and scalable
- Stay compliant with regulatory requirements, including FCA standards, and prepare for audits
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior finance leader in a fast-growing environment, preferably in tech, subscription, or fintech sectors
- Experience working with senior leadership teams
- Strong strategic, financial, and commercial acumen
- Confident in customer metrics such as CAC, LTV, payback, and retention
- Skilled in financial modeling, scenario planning, and dynamic budgeting
- Excellent communicator, capable of presenting to investors and Boards with clarity
- Track record of leading finance transformation and scaling initiatives
- Knowledge of financial regulations, ideally including FCA
- Experience with systems, automation, and scaling finance operations
