The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing M&E contractor that has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across the South East.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead the delivery of a 3.5 million CAT B commercial fit-out at Thames Valley, Reading.
The project comprises a CAT B fit-out across three floors delivered over three phases , providing an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative business with a strong pipeline of future work. Following successful delivery of this scheme, there will be opportunities to move onto specialist laboratory refurbishment and office-to-laboratory conversion projects across Oxfordshire.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the MEP package from pre-construction through to handover.
You will act as the primary point of contact for the client on site, coordinating subcontractors across all MEP disciplines while ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will be supported by an experienced Site Manager who has worked with the business for over two years, alongside regular involvement from the Head of Operations and Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full MEP package on a 3.5m CAT B commercial fit-out
Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
Act as the main client-facing representative on site
Attend and chair meetings with clients, consultants, architects, design teams, project managers, and subcontractors
Manage programme, procurement, and project delivery from pre-construction through to completion
Ensure all works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
Monitor commercial performance alongside the commercial team
Review technical information, manage RFIs, and coordinate design issues
Oversee commissioning, snagging, and final handover
Manage and support the on-site Site Manager
Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project
About You
We're looking to speak with experienced MEP Project Managers who have successfully delivered commercial building services projects.
An Electrical bias would be advantageous, but candidates with a Mechanical background and proven MEP project delivery experience are equally encouraged to apply.
Requirements
Proven experience as an MEP, Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager within the Building Services sector
Experience delivering commercial CAT A/CAT B fit-out or refurbishment projects
Experience managing MEP packages valued at approximately 3 million+
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
Experience managing multiple subcontractors across all MEP disciplines
Excellent programme, commercial and project management skills
SMSTS
Full UK Driving Licence
