Job Title: Procurement & Contracts Manager

Location: Croydon, UK (Hybrid)

Duration: Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Procurement & Contracts Manager to join our Procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional with strong UK public sector procurement experience to lead compliant, value-driven procurement activities across the Federation.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement exercises, including regulated tenders, framework agreements, and strategic sourcing activities. You will work closely with academies and central teams to ensure procurement activity is planned effectively, delivers value for money, and complies with the Procurement Act 2023 and internal governance requirements.

• Lead and manage end-to-end procurement activities from sourcing strategy through to contract award.
• Deliver regulated procurement exercises, including Find a Tender Service (FTS) procurements, framework call-offs, direct awards, and mini-competitions.
• Develop and maintain a Federation-wide procurement pipeline, identifying future procurement requirements and opportunities for collaborative purchasing.
• Advise internal stakeholders on the most appropriate procurement routes, ensuring compliance with procurement legislation and internal policies.
• Prepare procurement documentation including specifications, tender documents, evaluation criteria, award reports, and governance papers.
• Manage procurement processes in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 , public procurement regulations, and organisational policies.
• Identify and manage suitable public sector framework agreements (e.g., CCS, YPO, ESPO, NHS SBS ) and provide guidance on compliant framework usage.
• Support academies with procurement planning, contract mobilisation, and procurement best practices.
• Monitor procurement activities, contract renewals, and procurement savings, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and value creation.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support successful procurement outcomes.
• Deliver procurement training and guidance to academies on procurement procedures, thresholds, framework agreements, and compliance requirements.

• Proven experience in UK public sector procurement .
• Experience managing end-to-end procurement and tendering processes.
• Strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 , Public Contracts Regulations, and public sector procurement governance.
• Hands-on experience delivering FTS tenders, framework agreements, mini-competitions, and direct awards .
• Experience using public sector frameworks such as Crown Commercial Service (CCS), YPO, ESPO, NEPO, NHS SBS , or similar.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Experience preparing procurement documentation, evaluation models, award recommendations, and contract documentation.

We are looking for a Research Assistant with 2+ years of experience in prototyping and testing AI agents or large language models (LLMs). You will design test prompts, experiment with prompt engineering, and debug AI agent tool calls within a Python/PHP software stack. You’ll also help create internal benchmarks to evaluate AI agent performance.

Duration: 03-month (Likely extension)

• Create and refine test prompts to guide AI agents toward desired behavior.
• Implement and troubleshoot AI agent tool calls in a Python/PHP environment.
• Develop high-quality prompts to build internal evaluation benchmarks for AI agents.
• Test AI agents to assess their ability to perform tasks such as ordering, scheduling, or cancelling meetings.
• Analyze test outcomes, identify issues, and communicate findings for continuous improvement.
• Navigate and understand the Python codebase to correlate test results with underlying code.
• Improve and test existing AI agents.
• Identify where agents perform well and where they fail.
• Prompt testing and tuning to optimize agent responses.
• Flagging test results as pass/fail based on expected behavior.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in research or prototyping within machine learning, deep learning, or natural language processing.
• Proficient in Python, with the ability to understand and work with a codebase containing multiple interrelated files.
• Experience with AI agent frameworks such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) and LangChain.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns of large-scale software systems.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and data analysis is a plus.
• Experience using source control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience in generative AI and LLM research preferred.

Job Description

• Supports preparation, development, coordination, scheduling, and change management activities of maintaining an integrated plan to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards. Participates in maintaining, analyzing and producing metrics related to plans.
• Assists more experienced personnel with risk assessments, developing mitigation plan and refining the business case. Develops, collects, organizes and provides data, updates task, to maintain status of programs, schedule, customer and supplier commitments and compliance. Coordinates document work statements and resulting schedules. Identifies and provide reports on performance variances, project status, change information to project team. Communicates plan changes and recovery plans to ensure commitment to stakeholders.

Overall, our Integrated Schedulers do tasks such as:

• Prepares, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes and maintains, integrated plans and schedules for proposals, projects, programs and major initiatives at all levels across functional value streams to meet program and/or project objectives.
• Tracks, plans, schedules and performs risk analysis for projects, programs and change activities throughout the lifecycle of a program.
• Performs studies/analysis and planning efforts, within and/or across programs/projects, organizations or business units to determine impacts, constraints and plans involving product development, production rates, process improvement, or program initiatives.
• Develops the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and supporting elements, and drives program planning in support of Program requirements and objectives.
• Performs integration of program plans and schedules, horizontally and vertically, across company functional, product groups, suppliers and partners.
• Identifies, analyzes and reports schedule performance variances. Performs schedule-related risk and opportunity analyses and provides potential solutions to management.
• Works with customers to develop performance recovery plans and incorporates in relevant documentation where appropriate.
• Performs schedule, event and change impact analysis.
• Oversees implementation planning for change requirements and ensures commitment of stakeholders.
• Develops and posts planning, scheduling and change related metrics/reports.
• Maintains disciplined revision control of all planning/schedule baselines.

This particular position will be in support of Tooling Scheduling, where tasks specifically include:

• Scheduling of tool orders across multiple platforms and Programs (utilizing Manufacturing Execution, Tooling scheduling, and Demand systems.)
• Work with various stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Tooling Design, Program focals, Manufacturing Engineering, and more) to ensure alignment of tool orders for when work can be done in accordance with the Program need
• Develop Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks for Program Critical Tools and help the Control Account Manager (CAM) oversee implementation (systems like MS Project and OPP)
• Work with Tooling Managers (CAMs) and their delegates, to understand their tasks in the IMS
• Build reports and share analysis of data to applicable managers as needed to drive decisions
• Raise awareness when plans start slipping or if seeing potential impact to downstream customers
