Job Description
Marketing Automation Lead
Department: Marketing - Campaigns, Comms & Content
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Zinc - London
Reporting To: Kristen Menges
Compensation: £70,000 - £88,800 / year
DescriptionZinc’s Content & Authority squad is at the heart of prospects and customers hearing the right message at the right time. We need our first Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join us and own the CRM systems and journeys that progress contacts from Subscriber to MQL and beyond.
What you’ll own:- Build and maintain nurture segmentation, workflows, and automations
- Keep lists clean, contacts healthy, and documentation sound
- Design and set up emails (one‑off and automated) for sends, using HTML templating you’ll create
- Collaborate with marketers, account managers, and enablement/service specialists on the strategic direction of scalable lifecycle campaigns
- Write, build, deploy, and refine lifecycle email programmes with high ownership and consideration for the end reader’s experience
- Own the operational side of one‑off email comms to customers for must‑know product or legal updates. Coordinate sequencing and distribution, while legal and AM own the message sign‑off
- Define, track, and report on the KPIs that matter for each programme – open rates, click‑to‑open rates, conversion to MQL, stage progression, and unsubscribe rates
- Test before you ship: establish A/B testing as standard practice across subject lines, content, send cadence, and CTAs
- Turn data into clear recommendations grounded in context, not just numbers – and advocate for changes based on findings
In your first 90 days:
- HubSpot is audited, list hygiene issues are documented and a remediation plan is in motion
- At least one nurture programme is live or rebuilt from scratch with a clear measurement framework
By 6 months:
- You own a functioning lifecycle programme across at least two journey stages (e.g. Subscriber → MQL, onboarding)
- A/B testing is running as standard; you can point to at least one change you shipped based on test results
- Deliverability health metrics (bounce rate, spam complaint rate, sender reputation) are monitored and within acceptable thresholds
By 12 months:
- Email‑influenced MQL volume and stage‑progression rates are measurably improving quarter‑on‑quarter
- Lifecycle programmes are documented, scalable, and understood by cross‑functional stakeholders
- You’re a trusted partner to sales, AM, and product – proactively flagging what’s changing in CRM and why it matters to them
- Used HubSpot as your CRM
- Proven experience building programmes from scratch, not just inheriting them, in a CRM, lifecycle, or retention marketing role in B2B SaaS and want to do it again
- Strong copywriting skills, with a portfolio of email work that drove measurable performance
- A working knowledge of email deliverability: authentication, sender reputation, and list hygiene
You’ll thrive if you’re…
- Conscientious about how you build: noting limitations, watch‑outs, and recent changes to the CRM or service models that impact your flow design logic
- In touch with the impact CRM work has on the cross‑functional colleagues and you care about helping them understand what’s changing and why
- A calm, proactive communicator with stakeholders of all levels and departments
- Excited about the campaigns, assets, and messaging being worked on by those around you
- Interested in how AI is evolving in marketing
Zinc offers a chance to work on a product that brings a fresh perspective on data ownership in hiring
- 24 days holiday, Bank Holidays, and your birthday off
- £1200 annual benefits allowance (ThanksBen, from month 2)
- Early finish Fridays (16:00)
- Yearly company retreat abroad
- 30 days to work from anywhere
- Enhanced Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption Leave (2 months full pay, then statutory)
- Statutory pension with NEST (3% employer, 5% employee)

Outbound Pilot

Job Description
Outbound Pilot
Department: Outbound (SDR)
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Zinc - London
Compensation: £62,000 - £76,000 / year
DescriptionZinc is building the infrastructure that makes hiring faster, fairer, and more transparent - and we're growing the sales team to match. This is not a traditional SDR manager role. You'll be stepping into a company that genuinely believes outbound is a craft, and that the best teams in the world are the ones willing to rethink how it's done.
We have a GTM engineer embedded in the go-to-market team - a rare thing at our stage. Your mandate is to work in unison with them to design, test, and scale outbound motions that most sales teams haven't even imagined yet. AI-augmented prospecting, automated signal-driven workflows, hyper-personalised sequencing at scale - this is the day-to-day, not the aspiration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of mid-market outbound SDRs - hiring, coaching, performance management, and career growth.
- Own the outbound engine, setting pipeline targets, refining ICP, and ensuring the team consistently generates quality opportunities for Account Executives.
- Partner with our GTM engineer to design and ship new outbound campaigns and workflows - from intent-signal sourcing to AI-assisted personalisation to automated follow-up sequences.
- Stay ahead of the curve: evaluate new tools and approaches continuously, run experiments, kill what doesn't work, and double down on what does.
- Set the standard for quality over volume - coaching SDRs to prioritise relevance and insight in every touchpoint rather than spray-and-pray cadences.
- Report on pipeline health with rigour - track conversion rates at every stage, identify bottlenecks, and present clear recommendations to sales leadership.
- Work closely with marketing and product to ensure outbound messaging reflects Zinc's positioning and capitalises on product launches and market moments.
We care more about how you think than how long your CV is. That said, you'll need:
- Proven SDR management experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS or HR-tech environment, where you've built and coached outbound teams before.
- A genuine curiosity about AI and automation in sales. You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to understand what's possible and be excited to push boundaries.
- Strong analytical instincts - you run your team on data, not gut feel, and you can translate metrics into clear coaching points and strategic decisions.
- A player-coach mentality: you're comfortable rolling up your sleeves and writing sequences, researching prospects, or jumping on a coaching call when the team needs it.
- Excellent communication skills - you write well, give direct feedback, and can present pipeline performance to senior stakeholders with confidence.
- Mid-market ICP fluency: you understand the buying process at companies with 200–2,000 employees and know how to teach SDRs to navigate it.
- Experience working alongside or managing a GTM engineering or RevOps function
- Hands‑on familiarity with AI prospecting tools (e.g. Clay, Apollo, Unify, or similar)
- Background in recruitment‑tech, HR‑tech, or compliance‑adjacent SaaS
- Experience scaling outbound from a small team to a larger function
Zinc offers a chance to work on a product that brings a fresh perspective on data ownership in hiring
- 50% OTE (Uncapped)
- 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays + your birthday off
- £1200 annual benefits allowance (ThanksBen, from month 2)
- Early finish Fridays (16:00)
- Yearly company retreat abroad
- 30 days to Work from anywhere
- Enhanced Maternity, Paternity, and Adoption Leave (2 months full pay, then statutory)
