Shift Maintenance Engineer

Location: Jedburgh, Scottish Borders – on‑site rotating shift role. Excellent salary and benefits plus shift allowance.

Based in the beautiful Scottish Borders (circa 1 hour south of Edinburgh), GRW Talent’s client is a well‑established global manufacturer providing solutions to the power, telecom and data centre markets. The group is undergoing extensive growth and change right now, and they are currently looking to recruit a Shift Maintenance Engineer.

Reporting into the Engineering Lead, the Maintenance Shift Engineer is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, responding promptly to equipment breakdowns, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. Working closely with the Plant Leader and using the CMMS, this role ensures that machinery and systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably to support optimal production output.

You should have a recognised engineering qualification and/or time‑served apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineering with experience working as a Maintenance Engineer (or similar) in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Familiarity with PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, or other relevant systems is beneficial. You’ll need to be competent in root cause analysis, fault‑finding, and repair techniques with a solid understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance philosophies. In this role you’ll need to have flexibility to work a rotating 12‑hour shift pattern, 3 on, 3 off days and nights.
