Duties:

  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing philosophies (DFM/DFA).
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly, manufacturing, and test processes.
  • Ability to produce clear reports and deliver effective presentations.
  • Must be self-motivated with strong communication and influencing skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and fault-finding expertise, particularly in electronics down to component level.
  • Knowledge of RF test techniques, high voltage electronics, and encapsulation would be beneficial
  • Experience in problem-solving methodologies (8D, A3, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Proficiency with ERP/SAP systems and understanding of SPC data would be preferable.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will ensure that all facilities are maintained in optimum condition to meet required standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability. They are responsible for undertaking various planned and reactive maintenance tasks and will work as part of the maintenance team in a varied and fast-paced environment.


Main Responsibilities

  • Complete planned repairs and preventative maintenance in accordance with the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal operation of equipment, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Complete breakdown repairs in accordance with the Computerised Maintenance Management System, reporting daily to ensure minimal disruption to production requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance work backlogs are actively cleared, including overtime working as necessary.
  • Source, identify, and order spare parts when required to minimise associated downtime with specific repairs.
  • Maintain awareness of energy usage, particularly when machines are idling and not producing, to reduce energy consumption, lower the carbon footprint, and support compliance with customer targets:
    • Compliant hygienic maintenance practices.
    • Compliant lock-out procedures to protect employees from rotating machinery.
  • Supervise contractors as required to ensure Health and Safety compliance.
  • Travel to multi-site facilities as requested to complete maintenance requirements.
  • Carry out all maintenance work in compliance with Health and Safety and statutory regulations to provide a safe environment for employees.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of electrical and mechanical fault-finding / problem solving
  • Able to read and understand electrical drawings
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience of training and mentoring/coaching of team members would be advantageous to your application
  • Available to travel to multi-site locations

Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, through the Maintenance Supervisors. The Electrically Bias Maintenance Technician will work as part of an established shift team, maintaining all plant & equipment and helping to ensure that Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental, Energy and Production requirements are met.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support production activities to minimise equipment breakdown and optimize production efficiencies
