Role
As a Predictive & Preventative Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in improving the reliability, safety and performance of a wide range of mechanical and process equipment. Working as part of the engineering team, you will deliver planned preventative maintenance, carry out fault finding and repairs, and develop predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies to minimise downtime. You will utilise techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis, while contributing to continuous improvement projects, root cause investigations, equipment standardisation and maintenance planning. The role also involves working with CMMS systems, supporting process automation and collaborating with production and engineering colleagues to optimise plant performance.
Person
We are looking for a mechanically qualified engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with at least three years' experience in a manufacturing or process environment. You will have strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, reliability engineering and condition monitoring techniques, with experience of pumps, drives, conveyors and fault finding on industrial equipment. Familiarity with CMMS systems, RCM, FMEA and PLC-controlled machinery is essential, while experience with SCADA, SQL, AutoCAD or process automation would be advantageous. You will be a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills, a commitment to safe working practices and a passion for driving continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Basic Purpose of this job : Currently the position involves electrical and mechanical routine and preventive maintenance and repair of machines and plant building.
Shift: 3rd
Pay: $23.00/hour + 10% Shift Differential

- Perform preventive service on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment.

- Read prints, identify needed parts, check availability of parts, and order when necessary.
- Refill oil and coolants as needed in the course of working on equipment.
- Assure all equipment is functioning properly before leaving assigned task.

Responsibilities and Requirements- Field-based role requiring that drivers hold a full driving licence for 2 years (DVLA check applies)
- Working Hours: 43 hours per week (flexible start/finish times). Monday – Friday with 1 Saturday in 3 at overtime rate

- Liaise with service controller and customer at the outset and during work progress
The role requires basic knowledge of Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics related to servicing and repair of heavy mobile plant (or similar, e.g., HGV, or former REME/military vehicles). Education and Experience: around 3 years direct experience or related engineering function or formal apprenticeship with at least C&G level 1; health & safety training desirable but not essential as further training will be provided.
AccountabilityAttend customer locations as advised, ensure work is carried out to high standards and equipment is safe before handing back to the customer. Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, and take proper care of company vehicle and equipment.
