IPS Team Leader
Salary: £40,505 – £49,527
Location: West & North London (community hubs, with regular travel required)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to lead a team of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Specialists delivering the Connect to Work programme across West London. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic people manager with a passion for employment support, mental health, and community engagement. You will be responsible for driving performance, ensuring quality delivery, supporting staff development, and maintaining fidelity to the IPS model.
Working closely with local health services, community organisations, Jobcentre Plus, local authorities, and employers, you will play a key role in helping individuals facing health-related barriers move into and sustain meaningful employment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Employment Specialists to achieve and exceed contractual targets.
- Provide regular supervision, coaching, mentoring and field observations.
- Monitor and manage team performance, quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Ensure delivery aligns with IPS principles and evidence-based practice.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with health professionals, local authorities, employers and community partners.
- Support employer engagement activities to create sustainable employment opportunities.
- Manage operational performance including referrals, participant engagement, job outcomes and retention.
- Analyse performance data and implement improvement plans where required.
- Produce reports and updates for senior management.
- Promote continuous professional development across the team.
- IPS delivery and management experience.
- Experience managing remote or community-based teams.
- Strong performance management experience.
- Proven track record of delivering against targets and KPIs.
- Experience developing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Understanding of the barriers faced by disadvantaged jobseekers and people with health conditions.
- Knowledge of the relationship between employment, wellbeing and mental health.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and motivated IPS Team Leader to lead and support a team of Employment Specialists delivering high-quality Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services across Leicester.
This role is responsible for ensuring service delivery aligns with IPS fidelity standards, contractual KPIs and organisational quality requirements. You will provide leadership, supervision, coaching and operational oversight to ensure participants receive effective, person-centred support into sustainable employment.
The successful candidate will work closely with employers, NHS services, Jobcentre Plus, local authorities and community organisations to support integrated delivery and achieve positive employment outcomes for participants.
Key Responsibilities- Line manage and supervise IPS Employment Specialists and associated delivery staff, including regular supervision, coaching and performance reviews
- Ensure caseloads are effectively managed in line with IPS fidelity standards
- Lead team meetings, reflective practice sessions and operational planning activities
- Monitor compliance with IPS fidelity standards and organisational procedures
- Support preparation for audits, fidelity reviews and contract monitoring visits
- Escalate and resolve employer concerns where required
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with NHS services, talking therapies, Jobcentre Plus, VCSE organisations and community partners
- Monitor safeguarding, quality and operational risks across the team
- Support continuous improvement and high-performance delivery across the service
- Experience managing or supervising staff within employability, IPS or related services
- Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment
- Experience maintaining accurate records and using CRM systems
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
