Due to continued growth and expansion, they have a new vacancy for a EHS & Facilities Engineering Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Health & Safety management systems, managing facilities maintenance and identifying areas for improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the site, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the facilities maintenance of buildings, utilities and site infrastructure.
Manage facilities maintenance contractors and service providers, ensuring quality, cost, and performance standards are met.

Manage suppliers and control budgets for facilities services.
The Person
Proven experience in an EHS and/or Facilities Management role within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment.
Recognized Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma, certification or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Experience managing contractors, maintenance programs, and facility improvement projects.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.

What will you be doing?As the Environmental Manager, your role will be based in Scotland.
You’ll lead environment and sustainability across the region, driving measurable improvements and embedding environmental excellence in operations.
Ensuring compliance with legislation and the Environmental Management System, and you will lead assurance activities including audits, incident investigations and corrective actions.
You’ll lead, develop and resource‑plan a team of Environmental Advisers and Sustainability Advisers, building capability, training and best practice. Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams, clients and regulators, we’ll ask you to communicate performance, risks and opportunities and drive cross‑contract collaboration.
In this role you will identify and champion innovations and digital solutions, developing business cases that deliver long‑term value. You will also support work winning, business development and contract mobilisation by providing critical environmental inputs.

What youll bring- Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or a related discipline, plus Chartered membership of ISEP (or equivalent), e.g., CEnv / CISEP (or working towards).
- Experience of delivering works granted by planning permission or Section 37 agreement.
- ISO 14001 Internal Auditor qualification (or equivalent environmental management system/auditing experience).
- At least 5 years proven environmental leadership/management experience within large‑scale construction, infrastructure, highways or utilities, including leading multi‑disciplinary teams across multiple projects or contracts.
- Strategic, analytical and commercially aware, able to use data and risk analysis to make evidence‑based decisions and translate strategy into practical delivery.
- Values‑led people leader with experience developing teams, holding others to account and driving continual improvement.
- Clear, credible communicator able to influence senior leaders, clients, regulators and operational teams, building trusted relationships and improving environmental performance and culture.
- Experience supporting work winning and mobilisation activities, including tender responses, presentations and bid inputs.
- Strong organisational, planning and project management skills, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Approachable coaching style, able to respond to technical queries from operational teams.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to various locations with regular overnight stays.

What will you deliver?- Execute all PPM tasks in line with maintenance specifications, accurately logging work progress and completion using PDA and CAFM systems.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork, E‑Forms, and supplementary documentation promptly.
- Manage reactive maintenance tasks promptly, reporting plant failures and raising quotations as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and plumbing systems, including water booster pumps, valves, and large diameter pipework.
- Perform Point of Work Risk Assessments and ensure safe working practices are followed, including the use of PPE and adherence to permit to work systems.
- Monitor and supervise subcontractors during site maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe plant room environment and ensure tools, vehicles, and test equipment are regularly audited and in safe working order.
- Participate in a regional on‑call rota for emergency call‑outs outside normal working hours.
- Foster positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors while maintaining the professional image of Equans.
