Are you an ambitious DevOps Engineer with strong Python skills, a solid infrastructure background, and a passion for working closely with customers?
I'm working with a leading client in the Greater Cambridge area who is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their growing Professional Services team. This is a customer-facing role where you'll work closely with clients to deliver innovative solutions, deploy cloud-based infrastructure, and automate workflows, all while representing the company at a senior technical level.
This is a hybrid position, with around 2 days per week on-site at the Cambridge office Due to their location, access to your own vehicle will be essential.
You will:
- Deploy cloud-based infrastructure and install company software solutions.
- Build and maintain automated workflows, writing Python scripts to improve efficiency.
- Lead weekly client meetings to update on project progress and gather requirements.
- Deliver bespoke data migration processes and ensure smooth onboarding for new customers.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with internal support teams when needed.
- Monitor emerging cloud technologies, advising on best practices and opportunities for innovation.
About You
We're looking for someone with a DevOps mindset and strong technical knowledge, combined with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure, or Systems Engineering role.
- Strong Python scripting skills for automation and workflow optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
- Comfortable leading customer-facing meetings and managing client expectations.
- Knowledge of infrastructure deployment, networking standards, and server administration.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience with SQL for data handling and migration.
- Familiarity with HTML, PHP, CSS, and XML/XSL translation.
- Understanding of case management or SaaS-based software environments.
