The Role
As an Associate Director, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of Building Surveying instructions while supporting the strategic growth of the Bristol office. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed building inspections and prepare high-quality technical reports across a broad range of professional Building Surveying instructions. Reports should provide practical, commercially focused advice tailored to each client's requirements.
- Deliver a wide variety of professional Building Surveying services including technical due diligence, condition surveys, defect diagnosis, dilapidations, schedules of condition, planned maintenance advice and contract administration.
- Lead refurbishment, maintenance and capital improvement projects from feasibility through to completion, ensuring programmes, budgets and quality standards are achieved.
- Carry out construction stage inspections, monitoring project progress, assessing workmanship and identifying defects or outstanding works to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage multiple commissions simultaneously, maintaining excellent communication with clients while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Work independently with minimal supervision whilst collaborating closely with colleagues across the wider multidisciplinary business to provide integrated consultancy services.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and consistently delivering an exceptional level of service.
- Support business development activities by identifying opportunities, preparing fee proposals, assisting with tender submissions and helping to secure new instructions.
- Mentor and develop junior Building Surveyors, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional development.
- Represent the business professionally when meeting clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders, ensuring a consistently high standard of service.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards, service delivery and internal processes, helping to drive innovation and best practice across the team.
The successful candidate will possess:
- MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor status.
- Significant post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment.

AECOM is currently looking to hire an Associate Director Building Surveyor to be based in our Bristol and SW Region. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress their career within our growing BS Surveying Team, part of the larger national building surveying team.
Our UK Building Surveying team deliver projects and surveys that cover building fabric and MEP services as one unit, specializing in multi-disciplinary design services on refurbishment schemes, condition and asset surveys (including and not limited to Lifecycle, Technical Due Diligence, dilapidations and asset management.)

AECOM is currently looking to hire an Associate Director Building Surveyor to be based in our Bristol and SW Region. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress their career within our growing BS Surveying Team, part of the larger national building surveying team.
Our UK Building Surveying team deliver projects and surveys that cover building fabric and MEP services as one unit, specializing in multi-disciplinary design services on refurbishment schemes, condition and asset surveys (including and not limited to Lifecycle, Technical Due Diligence, dilapidations and asset management.)
Therefore, we are looking for a candidate with experience working with full spectrum building surveying and project management scope within education, commercial / light industrial environments, MEP services experience is desirable. In time, the candidate should be willing to support work winning and Client management in both private and public sectors.

+ Survey and Report Writing: Conduct comprehensive surveys and produce clear, concise engineering reports for a full range of typical core professional Building Surveying services. Ensure the reports are easily understandable for the intended audience.
+ Construction Monitoring: Assist with construction monitoring and snagging assessments to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
+ Teamwork and Independence: Capable of working independently under broad direction, while also supporting team members to meet client demands as needed.
+ Professional Representation: Consistently represent the company in a professional, courteous, and diligent manner. This includes meeting and liaising with clients, understanding their requirements, and ensuring the service provided meets their needs.
+ Client Development: Possess client development skills to cultivate relationships with existing clients and the confidence to win new work.
+ Continuous Improvement: Committed to continuous improvement of our standards, processes, and knowledge to deliver superior service to our core clients.

**Here's what we're looking for**
+ Communication Skills: Possess strong written and oral communication skills, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
+ Software Proficiency: Experience with tablet-based software, such as GoReport, Kyklcoud, and MOBIESS.
+ Time Management: Excellent time management skills, including ensuring all reports are completed in a timely manner to uphold the company's reputation.
+ Financial and Risk Management: Proficient in financial, commercial, and risk management from project inception through to completion on own projects.
+ Flexibility: Ability to work away from an office environment and potentially domestically and abroad.
**Security Clearance: Eligibility for DBS or other security clearance checks is required.**
