The Role

Management Reporting & Analysis

  • Support the preparation and development of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.

ERP Transformation - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

  • Play a key role in the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, representing the reporting and management accounts function.
  • Work with Finance, Systems, and external implementation partners to define future-state reporting requirements.
  • Support data migration activities, including data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), helping ensure the system meets Finance and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with training, documentation, and embedding new processes following implementation.
  • Act as a Finance super-user, supporting colleagues and driving adoption of new ways of working.

Financial Control & Compliance

  • Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Support month-end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and Group reporting requirements.

Business Partnering

  • Build strong relationships with budget holders and operational stakeholders across the business.
  • Provide financial insight and challenge to support informed decision-making.
  • Present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Proactively identify financial risks and opportunities, helping drive improved business performance.

What We're Looking For

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified or part-qualified, with active study support encouraged.
  • Strong experience preparing management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems, with previous involvement in a system implementation or migration advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, or similar ERP platforms desirable.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience of Power BI or other reporting tools beneficial.
  • Good understanding of UK GAAP and financial reporting principles.

Our client is one of the UK's most respected military charities, with over 140 years of history supporting veterans and service leavers into meaningful civilian careers. A vacancy has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a small, experienced finance team at their London headquarters.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. You will work closely with directors, operational managers and the fundraising team to monitor funding streams, prepare audit-ready financial statements and support ongoing improvement of finance processes and systems.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of two days a week at the London office. The position is offered initially on a fixed-term basis with a strong view to permanence for the right candidate.

What we are looking for
Experience counts for a great deal in this role. You may be qualified, part-qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification; what matters most is demonstrable experience of management accounting and the confidence to produce accurate accounts to a tight deadline. You will be comfortable presenting clear financial narratives to non-finance colleagues and working with a good degree of autonomy in a values-led environment.

Charity or not-for-profit experience is desirable, as is familiarity with Xero. A working knowledge of VAT and Gift Aid would also be an advantage, though full support and training can be given to the right candidate.

About the role

**Job Summary**
The Management Accountant EMEA is responsible for the accurate and timely performance of various functions required in support of the month-end close and reporting process of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (WHR) EMEA operational entities. Responsibilities include preparation of monthly journal entries, review of financial statements, management of bank accounts, preparing and/ or reviewing balance sheet accounting reconciliations, and the management of the accounts payable process for the four sub-regional offices via the related entities. They are also be required to support the quarterly reporting and audit cycles by preparing reporting schedules and assisting with external audit requests, and overall ensuring proper accounting treatment of transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ('GAAP').
In addition to supporting the close process, they are responsible for preparing statutory financial statements and supporting schedules in connection with our various statutory audits and tax requirements for the designated entities. They also assist with special projects that arise throughout the year.
They should be self-motivated and have strong leadership skills, being required both independently and through the leadership of the Accounting team, ensuring actions are taken to achieve the organisation's goals. They should also have strong PC skills, including Excel, Oracle and Hyperion (Enterprise/ HFM) and strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform individually and through the management of the Accounting team the month-end and quarterly close and reporting processes for the identified/ assigned EMEA operational entities, including preparation of monthly journal entries, review of financial statements, preparing and/ or reviewing balance sheet accounting reconciliations, and overall ensuring proper accounting treatment of transactions in accordance with GAAP.
+ Manage the accounts payable function for all EMEA regional entities, ensuring compliance with WHR policies, appropriate cash flow requirements, and timely and accurate vendor payments. Included in this is the accurate review, accounting and processing of team member expense vouchers to meet both tax and WHR compliance requirements.
+ Manage the quarterly and annual reporting tax and audit cycles for assigned entities by ensuring reporting schedules as well as audit and tax requests are met in an accurate and timely manner, and the relevant filings are made in compliance with legislative requirements.
+ Liaise and manage the external accounting firm relationships for assigned entities ensuring both cost effective use of support and legislative compliance of both local and US GAAP requirements. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes and work cross-functionally to design and implement changes.
+ Audit and approve expense claims in the company's SAP Concur System. Train new hires for future proficiency of the system to minimise input errors and allow for a smooth, efficient and timely authorisation and payment process. Redirect incorrectly coded expenses when necessary by adhering to and applying the companies Travel & Entertainment (T&E) policy.
+ Conduct expenses analysis as part of the monthly cost center calls. This is to alert to any budget overrun or expense coding queries, and to accurately forecast expenses for the coming months.
+ Manage the yearly budget process in proactively alerting the cost center leaders and Finance team members in any changes relating to price/ rent increases that have been flagged by internal and external stakeholders throughout the year.
+ Manage and develop the Accounting team including formal goal setting, performance reviews and ongoing feedback throughout the year. Interview and on-board new hires and Interns to integrate into the team's business and work needs. Monitor their performance, especially during the trial period, and introduce them to the department's workflows and best practices.
**Complexity**
+ The Management Accountant EMEA is responsible for making high value financial decisions as it relates to their job function. On technical issues, they identify the appropriate solution and take the necessary action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Responsibility for statutory reporting and supporting year-end accounts
  • Cashflow analysis, forecasting, and ongoing working capital management
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
  • Oversight and day-to-day management of a team of four finance staff
  • Supervision of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Close collaboration with commercial and trading teams to support business performance and decision-making
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support senior management during the restructure period
Skills & Experience Required
  • ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified or finalist
  • Strong Excel skills (advanced level)
  • Proven experience in a senior finance or management accounting role within an SME environment
  • Previous experience within construction or a similar project-based business would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage and develop a team

Fidarsi is delighted to be partnering with this international bank based in the City. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this role offers a varied scope including management reporting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting. It is a 12-month fixed-term contract with good potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial & Regulatory Reporting
  • Preparation of regulatory reports to FCA, BOE, and other bodies.
  • Production of all financial reports.
  • Additional reporting as required by the Head of Finance.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget, reforecasts, and monthly management information for UK and Paris offices.
  • Maintain good relationships between Finance and Business Lines / Support Functions on all finance matters.
  • Ensure correct accounting treatment of transactions and accuracy of P&L.
  • Review and analyze the balance sheet, including sundry / suspense accounts, before final validation.
  • Assist in internal management control reporting.
  • Support quarterly group reporting for the Paris Head Office.
  • Code and send supplier invoices to the AP team.
  • Prepare and post various accounting journals.
  • Process and pay general expenses, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, receivables, and VAT returns (with tax team support).
  • Handle payroll processes, file validation, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Follow up and reconcile intercompany recharges.

The ideal candidate will be a fully or partly qualified accountant with proven experience in financial and management accounting, excellent communication, and analytical skills.
