Shift : Monday to Friday days
Salary : £61,800

Our client operates a large safety-critical manufacturing facility. With a strong turnover in the hundreds of millions, they manufacture specialised products for key industry players in FMCG. Our client has a solid maintenance function with a supportive environment, and they are currently looking for a motivated Maintenance Manager to add to their team! Our client has a clear, structured plan to invest millions in training for you, upgrading their equipment, facilities and to make way for Continuous Improvement projects!
The Role
As a Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage a team of 15 engineers, ensuring all maintenance is performed to top quality standards
- Leading Continuous Improvement Projects
- Ensure all records on CMMS are kept up to date, and suggesting improvements
- Monitoring records of Reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance
- Dealing with 1 to 1s, holiday requests, rota queries and other man management responsibilities
About You
The ideal Maintenance Manager will have the following:
- A recognised engineering qualification
- Some experience leading a maintenance team
- A sound understanding of projects, Continuous Improvement and CMMS
- Previous COMAH experience is beneficial, though not essential

The RoleAs Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a well-established engineering team while driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of engineers to achieve operational excellence.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement and asset reliability across the engineering function.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities, audits, and PPM schedules are accurately recorded and completed to the highest standard.
- Managing departmental budgets and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Overseeing third-party contractors and ensuring compliance with site standards and expectations.
- Providing technical engineering expertise to support both short- and long-term capital projects.
- Leading root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurring issues and improve plant performance.
- Managing team performance through KPIs, objective setting, and regular performance reviews.
- Building strong cross-functional relationships with Production, Technical, Hygiene, and Health & Safety teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager or Senior Engineering Leadership position.
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- A recognised engineering qualification.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
- Experience driving continuous improvement, reliability, and engineering best practice within a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
