The EU Transportation Specialist is a key contributor to Leica Biosystems' global logistics strategy, responsible for managing transportation operations across Europe and supporting international shipments. We have a fantastic new opportunity available for a Transport Manager to join a market leading, globally recognised organisation that specialise in the heavy lifting and specialist transport industry.

Based out of their head office, which is situation in Middlesborough, you will be responsible for overseeing the compliance of the transportation of heavy cranes and associated equipment. As Transport Manager, you will hold full P&L responsibility for the transport division, alongside overseeing a small team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of profit and loss within the transport department.
  • Ensure strict compliance with O Licence regulations and transport legislation.
  • Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance across transport operations.
  • Lead and support a transport planner and a team of drivers.
  • Oversee loading lists, delivery sequencing, and logistical planning for crane movements.
  • Maintain strong communication with other depots to maximise efficiency and resource utilisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational performance while protecting the company’s global reputation.


Requirements of the Role:

  • Previous experience in a Transport Manager role.
  • CPC qualification is essential.
  • Proven experience in heavy crane transport and/or specialist heavy haulage preferred but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, O Licence, and transport legislation.
  • Commercially focused with preferable experience of managing budgets and P&L.

Venatu Automotive are working in partnership with our client in Rotherham for a Transport Supervisor.


Position: Transport Supervisor

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday – Day and Afternoon shifts

Reporting to: Transport Manager


About the Role


We are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to take responsibility for the smooth running of daily transport operations within a busy logistics environment. You’ll ensure goods are delivered safely on time, and cost-effectively while leading and developing a team of drivers and logistics staff. The successful candidate will oversee transport activities, maintain compliance with legislation, optimise fleet performance, and drive continuous improvement across the department.


Key Responsibilities : Transport Operations


  • Coordinate daily transport schedules to meet customer deadlines and service levels.
  • Monitor performance and implement improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.


Team Leadership


  • Manage, support, and develop a team of drivers and logistics personnel.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide training where needed.


Compliance & Safety


  • Ensure all transport operations meet legal, health & safety, and company standards.
  • Carry out audits and risk assessments to maintain safe and compliant practices.


Fleet Management


  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing, and compliance.
  • Manage fleet utilisation and replacement planning.


Performance & Reporting


  • Track and report on KPIs including cost, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Provide regular updates to management, identifying opportunities for improvement.


Collaboration & Service


  • Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless operations.
  • Resolve transport issues quickly while maintaining high customer satisfaction.



Skills & Experience Required


  • Proven experience as a Transport Supervisor or similar role within logistics/distribution.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of transport legislation and compliance.
  • Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

Are you an experienced logistics professional with a background in transport management?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a Distribution Business on the search for a Transport Manager. This is a perm role based in Swindon.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage daily delivery operations including route planning, driver supervision, and vehicle scheduling.
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and in line with customer expectations.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of delivery drivers and support staff to maintain high performance and morale.
  • Monitor and report on key delivery KPIs including OTIF (On Time in Full), customer satisfaction, and fuel efficiency.
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained, inspected and compliant with relevant legislation and company policies (including DVSA standards).
  • Work closely with the warehouse and stock control teams to ensure accurate and efficient dispatch of orders.
  • Manage driver rotas, holidays and absence to ensure continuous delivery coverage.
  • Investigate delivery discrepancies, delays or customer complaints, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Support health and safety initiatives and maintain a strong safety culture within the delivery operation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transport regulations and always ensure full compliance.


What We're Looking For:


  • Proven experience in delivery/logistics/transport management, ideally within an FMCG distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and compliance.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Competent in using routing/transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) desirable but not essential.


Salary - £35-40k + benefits.
