Job Purpose and Summary
Are you a creative, detail-obsessed copywriter with a flair for turning product features into irresistible online experiences? Canon EMEA is looking for an experienced E-Commerce Copywriter to lead the creation of persuasive, SEO-optimised content that boosts conversion and enhances the customer journey across our digital platforms.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, legal, and design to ensure our messaging is consistent, on-brand, and engaging across all e-commerce touchpoints.
What You’ll Do
- Craft high-impact, conversion-focused content across Canon’s e-commerce platforms – including product descriptions, category pages, banners, campaigns, emails, T&Cs, support content, and more
- Write clear, engaging copy that balances SEO best practices with compelling storytelling and deep product knowledge
- Ensure all content aligns with Canon’s tone of voice and brand guidelines
- Proofread and edit content produced by internal teams and freelancers to maintain quality and consistency
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Product Marketing, Legal, and Sustainability teams to ensure accurate, compliant messaging
- Upload and edit approved copy in our e-commerce CMS and Digital Asset Management (DAM) system
- Proactively seek ways to improve content quality, increase efficiencies, and elevate the customer experience
- Ideate and create engaging editorial content to support marketing initiatives
- Brief and manage freelance copywriters, reviewing and refining their output
- Partner with UX/UI designers to create concise, engaging content that fits design constraints

What we ask
- Proven experience in B2C e-commerce copywriting, preferably with exposure to technical products; B2B writing is a bonus
- Strong understanding of SEO strategy and tools (e.g. Google Keyword Planner, Search Console, SEMrush)
- Ability to use data (e.g. Google Analytics) to measure performance and optimise content
- Excellent creative and technical writing skills with meticulous attention to grammar and detail
- Experience collaborating with designers and adapting content to UX/UI needs within strict character limits
- Confidence working with legal and product stakeholders, interpreting feedback and translating it into compelling copy
