We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Band 7 Senior Sister to join our friendly and dynamic Community Nursing team based at Livingstone Community Hospital
Working closely with our Specialist Nurses, Community Nursing teams and MDT Co-ordinators in the DGS locality, you’ll work as a highly skilled case manager delivering high quality care to patients. Essential to the role will be supporting patients in improving their quality of life, promoting excellence of health and independence within the community, preventing inappropriate hospital admissions and facilitating early discharge, as well as providing education, support with self-management and health promotion.
You’ll care for patients and their families in the way that you believe is best, delivering our high service standards, sharing best practice, and actively improving the way we work.
Main ResponsibilityTo provide advanced clinical nursing support for patients with complex long-term conditions and/ or elderly/frail. Working as an autonomous practitioner, the post holder will effectively manage a caseload of patients with long term conditions, stratified as high risk.
Working in collaboration with appropriate health and social care professionals, the post holder will ensure continuity of care; aiming to reduce preventable hospital admissions and to improve quality of care for patients with long-term conditions in their usual place of residence (own home; residential or nursing home).
To engage with innovation, including tele technologies, to continually strive to effectively support the management of patients. To promote self-management strategies for patients and their carers, through education and advice, to reduce avoidable reliance on urgent services and promote positive patient outcomes.
The Ideal CandidateYou will be a Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration and a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working closely with patients with Long-term conditions with complex needs at Band 6 or Band 7. You will have strong communication and organisational skills and a flexible approach that will ensure you deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey

Requirements:
- Nurse qualified with NMC Pin - desirable
- Proven leadership experience in a nursing home setting
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and compliance
- The ability to inspire and support a well performing team
Duties include:
- Recruit, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high standards of person-centred care.
- Ensure full compliance with CQC standards and other regulatory requirements, maintaining robust internal quality frameworks.
- Manage the day to day running of the home, including staffing, budgeting, and resources to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Oversee the delivery of high quality care, ensuring residents' needs are met with dignity, respect, and compassion.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and the wider community to promote the home's reputation and foster a supportive environment.
Salary and benefits:

Kirkley Manor is a well-appointed and welcoming nursing home located in South Lowestoft, offering nursing and residential care for up to 71 residents, just moments from the town centre and sandy beaches.
The home benefits from a full complement of staff to support the successful candidate, including a Deputy Manager, Hospitality Manager, Nurse, Senior Support Workers, Support Workers, Chefs, Domestic staff, and an Activities Team. In addition, a dedicated Operations Manager provides ongoing support to both the Manager and the wider service. Care is delivered with a truly person-centred approach, celebrating each resident’s strengths, preferences, and life story to promote choice, independence, and overall well-being.
We are now seeking a proven Home Manager to lead Kirkley Manor, driving outstanding care standards, regulatory compliance, strong financial performance, and optimum occupancy.
As our Care Home Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the home. As a regulated business, we expect the candidate to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and be familiar with all the relevant legislation and regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring that the home provides high-quality care and support to our residents, whilst meeting financial targets and maintaining full occupancy.
You will be supported externally by dedicated Operations and Central teams.

You will be supported externally by dedicated Operations and Central teams, and within the home you will have the support of a Deputy Manager and Administrator, as well as Hospitality and Housekeeping teams. These teams will collaborate with you to ensure smooth operations and exceptional care for our residents.
Reports to: Operations Manager
Key duties and responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to the home’s staff team, promoting a culture of kindness, compassion, and empathy.
- Ensure the home meets all regulatory requirements, including those set by the CQC, and maintain excellent standards of care and support.
- Manage the home’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are effectively managed.
Skills and attributes
- Previous experience of managing a Care home.
- A good working knowledge, with a proven record of CQC standards.
- Good communication skills and can maintain excellent working relationships at all levels, internal as well as external professionals, families and visitors.

Preferably NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience (desirable but not essential).
