Job Description

Working for this large multinational energy company in Central London the Renewable Energy Services Analyst will contribute to the management of my client’s Renewable Energy Certificates procurement and servicing processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing further enhancements to the European renewable certificate management, concept design and general support of portals and ad-hoc projects.

The role requires attendance on the trading floor to gain first-hand knowledge of real time energy market information to support work on renewable certificates and the transaction portal development.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Maintain and gradually provide increasing support to customers/clients across the European Gas & Power portfolios and provide suggestions for improvements to the process.
  • Creation and ongoing development of a suite of European daily and weekly customer market reports.
  • Competitor analysis where required and in depth research of the full supply chain if required.
  • Support of new developments and enhancements to existing web portal services.
  • Liaise with all relevant counterparties, particularly with the Procurement desk, to ensure the front and back end functions efficiently.
  • Maintain all of the financial, compliance and regulatory requirements and support management in any renewable energy certificate submission.
  • Maintain database of historic prices, supply and demand data, for the customer market reports.
  • Create, modify and distribute customer procurement reports for gas and power.
  • Develop an in depth understanding of European energy markets, with a particular focus on supply and demand fundamentals, as well as drivers from the wider global energy complex.
Ideal qualifications, skill sets and experience:
  • Strong Academic background with a numerical/scientific degree ideal.
  • Commercial experience in an energy role, preferably with exposure to renewable energy markets.
  • Fluent French or German languages would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to write journalistic style.
  • Knowledge of, or experience of working with, the European energy markets a huge advantage.
  • Proficient in use of Excel and VBA, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interact with customers and other commercially focused teams (Trading, Sales), well-organised and capacity to work under pressure.
