About the Role
Morson Talent is delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading renewable energy companies to recruit skilled Wind Turbine Technicians for multiple wind farm sites.

As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe operation, maintenance, and optimisation of wind turbines. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about renewable energy who want to work at the forefront of the industry.

Key Responsibilities
Perform planned and reactive maintenance on wind turbines and associated equipment
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults
Carry out component replacements, retrofits, and upgrades
Conduct safety inspections, torque checks, and lubrication tasks
Use SCADA and other monitoring systems to track turbine performance
Work safely at height and in varying weather conditions
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities

About You
Previous experience in wind turbine maintenance or transferable mechanical/electrical engineering background
Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
GWO certification (Working at Height, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling) desirable
HV experience advantageous but not essential
Strong commitment to health & safety and teamwork
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled corrective repairs on wind turbines
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Work at height and in confined spaces as required, following strict HSE protocols
• Complete detailed service reports, inspections, and operational logs
• Support commissioning and retrofit upgrades as needed
• Ensure compliance with site safety rules, environmental policies, and risk assessments
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and control centre teams to support operational uptime

Requirements

• Recognised technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering
• Previous experience working on wind turbines (onshore or offshore) is highly preferred
• GWO certification (BST: Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, etc.)
• Understanding of SCADA systems and turbine control interfaces
• Strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK

• Providing remote technical support and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Analyzing performance data to identify optimization opportunities.
• Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities and findings.
• Contributing to the development and refinement of best practices in turbine maintenance.

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working with wind turbines.
• Demonstrable expertise in troubleshooting complex wind turbine issues.
• Experience with SCADA systems and remote diagnostic tools.
• Strong understanding of power generation principles and grid integration.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Valid GWO certificates (or willingness to obtain them) are highly desirable.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel occasionally to support specific critical operations if required, though the role is primarily remote.

• Remotely monitor the performance of wind turbines using SCADA systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in wind turbines.
• Analyze operational data to identify performance trends and potential issues.
• Coordinate and provide technical support to on-site maintenance teams.
• Prepare detailed technical reports on turbine performance and fault analysis.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of remote monitoring and diagnostic processes.
• Maintain accurate records of all remote interventions and support activities.

• HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a related field.
• Proven experience with SCADA systems and wind turbine monitoring software.
• Strong understanding of wind turbine mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies.
