Through our galleries and innovative exhibitions and public programme, the public can explore what it’s like to be a soldier, why we fought in conflicts – past and present, and discover the impact the Army has had on our society.
OverviewWe’re recruiting for a new member of our Curatorial team to work with our unrivalled collections of uniform and equipment at our collections centre in Stevenage. You will help us develop and understand our collections including acquisitions, cataloguing, collections review and disposal work.
Responsibilities- Help develop and understand our collections including acquisitions, cataloguing, collections review and disposal work.
- Transform access by publishing our collections more widely, delivering against our Documentation Plan and Research Strategy.
- Support our exhibitions programme, digital activity and other public facing work.
- Experience of projects involving a wide range of military material culture is essential.
- Good working knowledge of the history of the Army and current developments in defence.

Interviews will be held at the National Army Museum’s Collections Storage facility in Stevenage on Tuesday 2 December 2025.
Reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses is available for all candidates attending an interview.

The role focuses on creating high quality and engaging exhibitions and displays for a new museum in Peterhead, informed by ongoing participatory outreach with local communities. The role includes preparing the upcoming Museum Accreditation return and contributing to quality service delivery through continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Line manage two museum staff and report to the Museums Development Co-ordinator.
- Contribute to the development of high quality, engaging exhibitions and displays for the new museum.
- Participate in preparation of the Museum Accreditation return.
- Support continuous improvement to deliver quality service for the Service and the organisation.
Based at the Discovery Centre at Museums HQ in Mintlaw.
