Please note this is a self-employed position

The Job

Interpreting involves listening to, understanding and memorizing content in the original ‘source’ language, then reproducing the speech into the ‘target’ language with 100% accuracy.

You will:

• Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services
• Check the non-English speakers understanding after each sentence
• Conference, consecutive and public service interpreting
• Dealing with highly confidential information
• Liaise between the service user and service provider

Requirements

• Fluent in English and another language
• All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
• You must be aged 21 or over
• Formal qualifications such as:
  • Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
  • Community Interpreting
  • NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous
  • Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
  • Any other interpreting related qualification

• Lead and supervise a small team of four, including both fee earners and support staff.


• Manage a caseload of residential conveyancing matters , including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases , remortgages , transfers of equity , and all aspects of the conveyancing process from instruction to completion.


• Ensure smooth workflow and exceptional client service while maintaining manageable file volumes (no more than 70 live files ).


• Have the opportunity to get involved in commercial property transactions if you have relevant experience.

• You will be a qualified Property Lawyer , Licensed Conveyancer , Solicitor , or Chartered Legal Executive with solid residential conveyancing experience.

• Excellent attention to detail and client care skills.


• Confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision.

Salary & Location

• Competitive salary depending on experience.


• 16% bonus on billing above target.
