The person who will get the role will be in the role of Sales Director or similar, or perhaps an experience BDM/Sales Manager who is ready for a step up. They must have experience of selling into Police / Law Enforcement. Experience of carrying out public sector bids and using government bid frameworks/portals like CCS, Police IT, or NFP is preferred.

Main Responsibility
  • Leadership & Teamwork: Lead and supervise a skill-mixed team to deliver equitable, efficient services under the 5–19 Healthy Child Programme. Prioritise high-risk caseloads, delegate appropriately, and support team development through clinical supervision and appraisal.

  • Collaboration & Partnership: Build effective working relationships with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Engage with wider agencies to influence health policy and ensure integrated support for children and young people (CYP).

  • Clinical Practice & Direct Care: Deliver health assessments, targeted interventions, immunisations, enuresis clinics, continence assessments, and sexual health services. Identify unmet health needs, provide referrals, and maintain safeguarding responsibilities in line with local procedures.

  • Health Promotion & Education: Plan, deliver, and evaluate health promotion activities through PSHE lessons, group work, and one-to-one sessions. Facilitate drop-in clinics and contribute to service initiatives.

  • Safeguarding & Risk Management: Act promptly in suspected abuse cases, attend child protection meetings, and participate in safeguarding supervision. Ensure record-keeping and reporting adhere to clinical standards.

  • Communication & Information Management: Adapt communication to varied audiences, contribute to reports and forums, and maintain accurate, confidential records in line with professional and organisational standards.

  • Planning & Organisation: Manage own workload and team activity, aligning with service priorities, caseload levels, and safeguarding obligations. Contribute to service planning and audits.

  • Policy, Research & Service Development: Support protocol development, lead audits, and contribute data for commissioning. Promote evidence-based practice and service evaluation.

  • Resource & Risk Management: Maintain medical equipment and organisational assets, report replacements as needed, and support infection control and immunisation uptake initiatives.

  • Professional Accountability: Comply with NMC standards, undertake CPD, and support the training and development of junior staff. Act within organisational policy under the supervision of the Clinical Team Lead.

The Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from you if:

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RN1) with SCPHN – School Nurse qualification and current NMC Part 3 registration

  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and transferable clinical skills

  • Knowledge of NHS and CYP public health priorities

  • Experience in leadership, multi-disciplinary teamwork, and service improvement (e.g. audits, research, change management)

  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to prioritise, delegate, and manage complex situations

  • Competent in IT and digital record-keeping

  • Resilient, adaptable, and professional with high personal integrity

Desirable

  • Registered Nurse – Child Branch

  • Mentorship or supervision qualifications (e.g. Child Protection Supervisor, Clinical Supervision Facilitator)

How you'll make a difference

Vinney Green Secure Children’s Home offers young people a safe, caring environment, where they will experience quality care, education, and life skills training. As Residential Youth Support Worker, you will help young people develop the values, skills, knowledge, self-control and direction that will enable them to return to the community in a more positive and purposeful way. 


What you will be doing

  • Daily, you will provide on-going care and supervision of young people at the home within the framework of the regulations governing secure accommodation.  
  • You will oversee all aspects of security and ensure procedures, routines and recording functions are carried out and you will assist in the compliance of health and safety regulations, including ensuring the maintenance of fire precautions, fire drills and familiarisation of evacuation procedures. 
  • Contributing to the protection of young people from abuse, you will assist in identifying and assessing their problems, needs and potential.  
  • It will be key for you to establish strong professional relationships with our young people and to model pro-social behaviour, supporting those experiencing change in their provision of care.
  • Helping to enrich the lives of our young people, you will organise, plan and oversee activities and participate in their education, including the assisting with in-class studies and homework. 
  • You will need to set and maintain appropriate limits on young people’s behaviour and create opportunities for them to develop more positive behavioural responses, promoting pro-social conduct. 

What we need from you

  • You will be required to undertake training and development activity, including achievement of the Level 3 RQF programme within an agreed timescale. 
  • You must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to record and communicate essential information, including the use of basic computer systems such as MS Office.  
  • You will understand the demands of working with young people who may have complex needs and to be able to deal with these in a non-judgemental manner. 
  • Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in a secure setting or working with young people who present challenging behaviour.  
  • Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post. 

What you need to know

  • The salary is plus a Secure Unit allowance of £2,903.04 per annum and enhancements for Sunday and Bank Holiday working.
  • Additional rates applicable for rostered Sunday shifts (time and a half) and bank holidays (double time).

  • The home works on shift patterns, working an average of 37 hours per week following a designated shift pattern working between the hours of 7.30am – 10.30pm, alternate weekends and some shifts may be on bank holidays. Meals are normally eaten with young people. 
  • Young people can present physically threatening behaviour and the environment can become tense and anxiety provoking, so for everybody’s safety surveillance cameras are in use in most areas of the building. 
  • Vinney Green operates a full non-smoking environment, and there is no provision to facilitate smoking anywhere on site. Staff’s personal belongings are required to be left in a provided locker on entry into the building and we may require you to undertake a further physical fitness check. 
  • This role is demanding and there will be some physical active aspects to the job, but we can assure you that this will be one of the most rewarding jobs that you will ever do!

How you'll make a difference

As an Emergency Duty Team Social Worker, you will offer out of hours emergency social work services to four local authorities. The public and other professionals with make contact regarding social care issues across Bristol, BANES, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, which require an urgent response. 

Working within a small team of Social Work Practitioners, you will encounter a variety of challenging situations where you will need to make sound judgements. 


What you will be doing

  • Working to a 10-week rolling rota, you will cover nights, weekends and bank holidays. This includes 2 weeks off rota and 1 week on standby (part time workers will be agreed around this model).
  • It will be key for you to demonstrate your knowledge of the relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, Children’s Act and Care Act) and statutory duties to be able to respond accordingly to each situation.
  • It will be your responsibility to keep up to date with good practice in all areas of social work, along with service and policy objectives, to ensure these are met.
  • Regularly, you will work with other agencies and statutory bodies (e.g. police, health etc.) and continue to maintain good working relationships with them.
  • Day to day, you will need to complete all necessary forms, including maintaining a log of all calls received, indicating the action taken and ensuring details are reported to the appropriate duty desk. 

What we need from you

  • We require you to be a qualified Social Worker with relevant registration to practice (SWE Social Work England) and be AMHP warranted.
  • You must have relevant post-qualifying experience in mental health along with extensive knowledge of dealing with complicated cases.
  • You will undertake complex risk assessments, so you must be able to effectively communicate the outcome in both verbal and written formats.

What you need to know

  • Your salary will be pro-rata to hours worked.
  • Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check covering both Child and Adult Workforce is obtained.
  • Once you have completed your induction, there will be opportunities to work from home.
  • You will be expected to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area so you must have a full, valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or have an alternative means of travel.
  • Business Insurance will need to be added to your existing insurance policy.
  • EDT Social Worker (AMHP warranted) £45,091 to £8,226  per annum (including an out of hours shift allowance of 26% = £5 814 to 0,764)
  • These posts attract a gross lump sum £ 000 ‘recruitment payment ’ pro rata offered to enable social workers who have already successfully completed their ASYE to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period (after approximately 3-6 months) and is subject to eligibility criteria.
  • These posts are currently eligible for a market factor £3,00 ‘retention payment’  pro rata, payable in November annually to those with two years’ service with the council in Children’s Social Care In an eligible post, inclusive of any ASYE period.

Interviews will be held week commencing 3rd November 2025.
