Your responsibilities
- Participate in developing and assist in communicating short-range and medium-range maintenance plans for manufacturing lines.
- Coordinate with Maintenance team leader to execute the Maintenance repair on assigned lines.
- Monitor equipment uptime, work with operations to prioritise repairs and initiate improvement plans when necessary.
- Support Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities on lines.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to internal and external customers.
- Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures involving safety, quality, hygienic design, good - - manufacturing policies, lean manufacturing and other plant programs.
- Determine root cause of equipment failure using Reckitt tools and implement improvement plans.
- Job recording and detailed handovers.
- Use the CMMS SAP system and resource to ensure that all agreed maintenance and improvement work is completed and ensure accurate and timely feedback of all tasks performed.
- Ensure that procedures, as defined in the CMMS SAP system are correctly implemented in all areas.
- Participate effectively in daily/weekly meetings.
The experience we're looking for
- Minimum of time served apprenticeship to level NVQ 3 or equivalent.
- 5 years relevant work experience in a team-based manufacturing environment; on high speed packaging equipment preferred.
- ONC/HNC in the mechanical and/or electrical disciplines preferred but not essential.
- Strong mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, or reliability maintenance background is desired.

As a Manufacturing Technician, we’ll depend on you to keep things running like clockwork. A hands-on, operations and technical role, you’ll have your own area of responsibility but be able to apply your skills across the factory. Your responsibilities
- Ensuring the line hits its hourly targets. Get it set up and running in a manner that maximises performance in a fast-paced and high-pressure manufacturing environment
- Be the first response to any breakdowns or set up issues on your line; utilising root cause problem solving skills and implementing fixes in a time conscious manner
- Maintaining plant and machinery to a very high standard through PPM
- Taking the lead on troubleshooting
- Proactively finding ways to improve line performance utilising key skills in innovation and team work
- Taking ownership of scheduling maintenance effectively to maximise service levels
- Carrying out condition-based maintenance (CBM) to minimise impact to service
Working Hours
You’ll be contracted to an average of 39 hours per week. We have a flex 4 contract in place, which includes the possibility of working 4 different shift patterns. The 3 shift and continental shift patterns (four on, four off) are the most predominant on site. We will always try and work with you to give you the shift pattern most suitable, however this isn’t always feasible and is dependent on business needs.
The experience we're looking for
- You hold a level 3 engineering or maintenance qualification
- You have a strong mechanical aptitude and thrive in a fast paced FMCG environment
- You can troubleshoot and repair sophisticated machinery (such as electrical, pneumatic or mechanical systems)
- You can respond urgently to immediate problems but be disciplined enough to plan routine tasks, future improvements and preventative maintenance
- You are an effective communicator, who can both influence and keep others well informed
- You like to innovate and challenge the status quo
