Learning & Development Manager (#29825053)

The L&D Manager will work closely with the business to develop the capabilities required for the organisation to achieve its goals. This is a varied and exciting role where you will be responsible for developing and delivering the Learning & Development strategy, providing consultancy and advice at all levels, from Apprenticeship and early career development through to Leadership development and work with stakeholders to collect, consolidate and understand the learning and professional development needs across our teams. You will work to validate L&D requests in order to prioritise a set of agreed deliverables, promote the use of L&D processes and tools and evaluate their effectiveness, ensuring an appropriate balance between quality and value for money. You’ll need to be passionate about learning and development (ideally with an interest in technology and innovation) and have an intrinsic understanding of how it impacts employee motivation, engagement and performance. You will be strategic in your outlook, highly pragmatic and will use data to provide insights and inform decision making. You will also be interested in researching and delivering new types of learning and development tools and approaches. You will support the ongoing development of the company’s culture, values and employer brand and ensure that we continue to uphold the values of equality, diversity and inclusion in our ways of working.
What You’ll Do
Promote a learning culture within the organisation
Manage and track the L&D spending budget and define and deliver periodic reporting on progress and impact of L&D interventions
Undertake periodic L&D needs analyses, produce project proposals and plans, deliver and source training and define / lead initiatives for teams / departments as required
Research and select different learning and training resources / tools / partnerships to meet business needs, negotiating and managing contractual agreements with providers
Design an internal leadership development programme to grow our top performing talent to foster succession and retention in the organisation
Develop learning and career development programmes to ensure robust succession planning across the teams
Deliver training directly on a variety of topics, to include performance management, setting OKRs, delivering feedback, using the LMS/ PMS
Develop a mentoring / coaching programme within Digital Catapult to address specific needs and support our D&I strategy such as promoting women in leadership and closing the gender pay gap
Maintain and continue to enhance and embed our performance and learning management platform (Kallidus Learn), including managing training attendance
What We’re Looking For
You will have a strong background in learning and development and be able to provide evidence of the successful projects and initiatives you have created and led
You will be up to date on modern approaches to L&D, have proven experience in L&D content curation as well as being a great trainer and enjoy bringing these insights and experiences to our team
You will be a strong communicator, confident at all levels and with strong presentation skills
You will be a great team player, who has experience in conflict management, problem solving, strategic planning and who is self-motivated and able to work without close supervision
A background in fast paced, ideally technology related, businesses would be ideal for this role
You’ll be motivated by making a difference and seeing improvement and tangible results. Experience of working with OKRs or any related performance management framework and ability to advise the organisation on ways to improve the current process would be ideal
Analytical and inquisitive, you will be methodical in your approach with an eye for detail
A coaching qualification or related experience and exposure to working with various behavioural assessment profiles would be an added advantage
