About the Role
Reporting to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will carry out the professional duties of a schoolteacher in line with current school policies. As a fully committed member of the teaching team, you will deliver high-quality education that reflects the ethos and organisation of Bankside School.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the learning and achievement of all pupils outside the classroom, ensuring equality of opportunity
- Plan and prepare schemes of work and lesson plans tailored to individual needs
- Create purposeful learning environments, including working in family homes and community settings
- Teach pupils according to their individual educational needs, including setting and marking work both in school and externally
- Deliver engaging lessons designed to motivate learners and raise attainment
- Provide personalised, differentiated tasks to support effective learning
- Maintain high expectations, fostering respectful, trusting, and supportive relationships that enable pupils to reach their full potential
Who We Are Looking For
- Level 2 or higher qualification in English, Maths, Science, or all three
- PGCE and or QTS
- Understanding of the new Ofsted Framework expectations for effective teaching and learning
- Sound knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Good understanding of the National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Pastoral Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with varied and complex needs. The role is both challenging and rewarding, offering the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the senior leadership team on behaviour trends and support whole-school communication and behaviour strategies.
- Assist with reintegration of pupils back into lessons following incidents or time out of class.
- Implement agreed strategies to manage and improve pupil behaviour.
- Monitor and analyse pupil behaviour using the online behaviour management system.
- Provide an on-call response to support teaching staff when required.
- Liaise with teachers to ensure pupils are supported in meeting their learning objectives.
- Uphold safeguarding standards, acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Person to support the Safeguarding Lead.
- Contribute to regular CPD by supporting training on communication and behaviour strategies.
Essential:
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience working in an educational environment with a range of pupils.
- Proven experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs and managing challenging behaviour.

Bankside School is an exciting new venture near Hanley Castle, Worcester. Our new specialist school caters for students aged 11-18 years old with Autism, Complex needs and learning disabilities.

Role Responsibilities:What to expect as an Early Years Teacher

- Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for both children and team members.
