The purpose of a Mechanical Shift Technician is to maintain conditions of operating equipment by repair or replacement of failed components, troubleshooting and repairing routine mechanical problems on assigned equipment, conduct preventative maintenance on various manufacturing and packaging equipment, document WO's/PM's using computerised maintenance management system, support Operations in equipment setup and adjustments to centerline operational output of assigned equipment, participate on MSE teams, train operators in AM activities, and conduct Breakdown Analysis

What are we looking for?

  • Experience: Previous manufacturing experience is essential.
  • Education : Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, or certifications such as CMfgE, CMRT, or HVAC Certification.
  • Practical Experience : Apprenticeships, internships, or co-op programs in mechanical trades.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, machining, and mechanical systems.
  • Hands-On Approach : A self-driven attitude with the ability to prioritize workloads effectively.
  • Team Collaboration : Ability to work effectively in teams, sharing insights and collaborating on improvements.

  • Maintain and ensure efficient repairs in a high-production environment.

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and fixing industrial boilers, steam pipework, and water systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various competencies: Pneumatic systems, compressors, chillers, boilers, and dehumidifiers with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Electrical/Mechanical engineering qualifications (apprenticeship, HNC, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate all critical facility plant for factory operations, including production air conditioning, boiler systems, and air compressors.
  • Collaborate with the site reliability engineer to highlight concerns and propose ideas for future asset investments.
  • Plan and schedule all legal inspections within the facility department, ensuring full documentation is maintained.
  • Manage reactive work support, troubleshooting, and root-cause methodologies.
  • Oversee facility contract management duties, including risk assessments.
  • Continuously improve the facility SAP PM system to ensure robust transaction capture.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reactive maintenance processes.
