Hours: 37.5 hours
Tenure: until December 2030
Salary: NJC Scale point 19, £27,254 per annum
LLTCA's Connect 65+ will offer the over 65s a range of support services to meet their needs, including befriending, time out for older carers, IT support, navigation and reminiscence. This will be delivered through the support of volunteers and services and groups already offered through LLTCA's Laurencetown Community Centre and will seek to enable our seniors live well and promote independence by keeping them connected across the area. This project will operate over the wider Portadown, Banbridge and Lurgan areas.
Job Description
The Community Connector will support the Co-ordinator in the development and delivery of LLTCA's Connect 65+
This will entail supporting the Project Co-ordinator with:
- Delivering the project plan e.g. recruiting and inducting volunteers, training, matching and placement of volunteers, monitoring pairings, signposting to relevant agencies and services
- Building stakeholder base across the community/voluntary and statutory sector to enhance joint working practices and referral network
- Engaging with those older people, their families and carers who are not well connected in their community to determine and plan appropriate Connect 65+ support
- Building relationships re signposting and referral processes with a variety of agencies and associated partners
- Promoting the project via social media, meetings, presentations, written reports/articles etc
- Understanding and building knowledge of the issues affecting older people and carers and their families
- Maintaining processes and systems regarding monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the management and delivery of the project
- Evaluation and reporting to LLTCA and the multi-agency stakeholder Steering Group
- Adhering to LLTCA policies and procedures
Person Specification
Applicants must have:
- A recognised third level qualification in community development or related discipline OR a minimum of 2 years relevant experience working within the field of community development/project management or related specialism
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) particularly the ability to communicate at all levels
- Proficient in use of IT systems e.g. Office, Google docs, social media
- A high degree of self-motivation and ability to work under own initiative
- Access to a form of transport which will enable the post-holder to meet the requirements of the post in full
Desirable
- Minimum of one years relevant experience in volunteer recruitment and management
The starting salary is £27,254
A pension of 3% employer pension contribution and 5% personal contribution is included in this post
The post holder will be subject to an enhanced Access NI check
The post is fixed term for 5 years
The post holder is accountable to the LLTCA CDM

Job Description
The Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for delivering the Connect 65+ project on behalf of LLTCA.
This will entail:
- Managing the project Assistant
- Managing and co-ordinating the development and delivery of the project plan e.g. identifying older people, recruiting and inducting volunteers, training, matching and placement of volunteers, monitoring pairings, signposting to relevant agencies and services
- Engaging with those older people, their families and carers who are not well connected in their community to determine and plan appropriate Connect 65+ support
- Building stakeholder base across the community/voluntary and statutory sector to enhance joint working practices and referral networks in particular with the Integrated Care Teams in Lurgan, Portadown & Banbridge
- Maintaining and developing processes and systems regarding monitoring and evaluating all aspects of the management and delivery of the project
- Evaluation and reporting to LLTCA and the multi-agency stakeholder Steering group
- Promoting the project via social media, meetings, presentations, written reports/articles etc
- Strengthening the Steering Group and their involvement in the project
- Understanding and building knowledge of the issues affecting older people and carers and their families
- Building relationships re signposting and referral processes with a variety of agencies and associated partners
- Adhering to LLTCA policies and procedures
Person Specification

The Project Co-ordinator will have responsibility for the day to day management of the "Our Lives, Our Needs, Our Solutions" youth project maximising the core youth provision in line with LLTCA Management Committee policies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To work directly with young people by assessing their needs and providing an agreed quarterly programme of activities designed to meet those needs, in line with funder requirements and within budget.
- In consultation with LLTCA Management Committee ensure that youth club objectives are achieved through implementation, monitoring and evaluation of agreed work programmes and submit reports to LLTCA and Big Lottery.
- To develop monitoring and evaluation processes to support effective delivery of programmes.
- Ensure the safety and active participation of young people in youth work programmes via completion of regular H&S and Risk Assessments.
- Establish contact with, listen to, befriend, advise, support and act as an advocate for young people.
- Encourage and participate in any residential and outdoor education elements of the programme.
- Promote and develop inter-community activities and build relationship with post primary schools and youth organisations regarding volunteering placements.
- Be responsible to the line manager for all management, administration and financial matters relevant to the Youth Club.
- Engage in appropriate fund raising related directly to the approved programme assessing resource needs and acting on any deficiencies.
- Ensure the induction, motivation, development, training, deployment and discipline of Youth Club staff (paid and voluntary).
- To undertake any other duty requested by the Community Development Manager and Management Committee
