We’re recruiting an experienced and motivated Chef to join our catering team at HMNB Clyde , part of the ESS – Compass Group .
You’ll play an important part in providing high-quality, freshly prepared meals for 200–400 Service Personnel in a busy canteen environment, working within a friendly and professional team of 14.

Hours: 35 hours per week
Days: Sunday to Thursday
Shift: 07:00 – 15:00 (includes 30-minute unpaid break)

Meal Service Times:

• Breakfast: 06:30 – 08:15

• Lunch: 11:30 – 13:00

• Dinner: 17:30 – 19:30

• Previous experience in a similar chef or catering role – essential

• Relevant catering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable

• Sound knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards

• Team player with good communication and time management skills

• Reliable, flexible, and professional approach to work

• £15.26 per hour, 35 hours per week

Pattern: 4-week rotation

• 2 weeks Early Shift: 08:00 – 15:00

• 2 weeks Late Shift: 15:00 – 21:00

• 1 weekend in 4

Meal Service Times:

Team: 14 colleagues working across the canteen service
