What you’ll be doing:

• Working closely with other engineering disciplines and functions, supplier and customer areas, fostering a team-working and collaborative product development environment
• Producing and issuing Airframe engineering design data to meet project requirements, in line with design standards, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence
• Verifying design data prior to a formal independent check criteria to ensure compliance with project standards

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Experience in an Airframe Design role, or equivalent ‘near-neighbour’ disciplines
• Degree or HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
• Experience of operating in an airframe design role, or equivalent in one or more phases of the product lifecycle
• Proficiency in a CAD system, typically CATIA V5 or equivalent toolset, with experience in a PLM system
• Awareness of product lifecycle requirements and the importance of governance to product integrity

Desirable

• Experience of working in a multidisciplinary integrated product development environment, influencing adjacent disciplines
• Experience of working with external customers, suppliers and partners
• Experience of managing Design tasks to meet engineering design requirements and programme requirements
• Experience in leading and guiding other Design staff

The team:

As a Senior Structural Design Engineer you will be part of a team producing the physical product definition to satisfy a set of multidisciplinary system functional requirements, taking account of safety, cost, manufacturing, in-service support and other considerations. Your engineering capabilities will be developed across a range of design skills and product lifecycle stages, working both in a model-based (3D) and 2D Drawing engineering environment centred on Catia V5.

The service includes safe accommodation, supporting domestic abuse victims in refuge and dispersed properties in the community, an outreach team supporting medium and standard risk cases in the community, a children’s team, supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse, a IDVA team, supporting high risk victims and a Women and Families Centre offering group and one to one support.

Role information:

As a Safe Accommodation Night Worker, you will work within our safe accommodation provision, a 24-hour refuge located in Tameside. The role is a lone working role.

You will provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse and their families, residing in our safe accommodation. The role requires effective team working with immediate colleagues and effective relationship building and utilisation of a multi-agency framework, consisting of the MASH and local partners to tackle domestic abuse and safeguarding in the Borough.

You will be assessing new referrals, supporting new admissions, completing support sessions, contributing to health and safety requirements of the services and buildings.

You will provide advocacy, emotional and practical support along with information to clients including legal options, housing, finance, and a range of other interventions, a focus on support to move clients on to suitable housing.  You will ensure each client receives the appropriate level of support relevant to the individual’s needs.

Third Party Liaison Officer

The Role

To act as the 3^rd party liaison across our projects from the feasibility stage through to the completion of construction on site. The role will be broad-reaching and covers key aspects such as Customer Liaison, Local Authority and Highways engagement and noticing, and championing Social Value and Sustainability within the Region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy:

• Measure the customer experience that impacts our CMex measures to produce valuable insights and identify customer trends

• Monitoring and measuring of customer satisfaction / social value KPIs
• Be responsible for reporting on the customer satisfaction / social value scoring and providing feedback to our clients and operational teams

Performance:

Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Role

Quantity Surveyors at Barhale, integral members of project teams, provide support to the project delivery teams and senior management daily. They are allowed to develop existing skills, whilst learning new ones, within a collaborative and dynamic team. Barhale’s civil engineering and infrastructure projects are varied in value, complexity, and duration, from established frameworks to individual bespoke projects and unplanned emergency works. With projects varying from £200k to £10m+, you will be essential in driving efficiencies within the scope of work, driving cost efficiency and providing a high standard of commercial analysis. The role will see you demonstrating your commercial acumen daily, by identifying, recording, tracking and realising commercial opportunities, whilst mitigating business risk.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial

• Provision of accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels to inform Group reporting
• Provision of accurate cash flow reporting
• Cost management and project forecasting
• Drafting and updating a monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans
• Compile upstream applications for payment and cash management
• Responsibility for subcontract procurement, negotiation and financial accounting

• Ensure that main contracts entered into have terms and conditions that align to Barhale’s corporate governance, with commercial risks and opportunities identified and managed in conjunction with the project delivery team.
• Procurement of subcontracted works and subsequent subcontract post contract management
• Ensure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
• Supply chain management, including building and maintaining relationships

• Support all internal commercial processes by ensuring adherence to timeframes and compliance
• Actively seek to improve processes and procedures

About you

Essential

• Previous experience in the construction industry
• Familiarity with IChemE/ NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law
• Previous experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, and accruals calculations
• Demonstrable experience in monthly forecasting and cost analysis.
• Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines

Desirable

• Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards
• CSCS card
• HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience in estimation
• Experience working for a direct delivery contractor
• An engaging communicator with problem-solving skills.
