Shift detail: 4 x 12 hr shifts per week including break on a rolling 3-week rota.

Includes 2 out of 3 Saturday working but no Sunday working.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a valid HGV Class 2 licence  with less than 6 points and be comfortable lifting up to 25kg as part of your day-to-day tasks. You’ll also need your own transport to get to the depot due to the working hours of your shift public transport will not be operating. Successful colleagues have a good eye for detail, strong spatial awareness, and the ability to stay calm under pressure will help you thrive in this busy but rewarding environment.

About our Nursery 
Bristol Portishead, rated Good by Ofsted, has a capacity of 91 children and features a longstanding team passionate about providing the best care and start to life for young learners. Our dedicated staff create exciting and challenging activities while staying current with training and curriculum updates. We also maintain a partnership with a local baby bank to collect donations for families in need. Conveniently located on a main road, we are accessible via local bus routes and near several schools and shops, with free parking available for staff.

Role Responsibilities:

What to Expect as a Nursery Practitioner:

  • Create a Safe, Stimulating Environment: Prepare materials and arrange rooms to encourage children's growth and learning.
  • Lead Educational Activities: Plan and deliver activities that support children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development, aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Key Person Role: Oversee children’s development, care needs, and build strong family connections.
Required Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education.
  • Proven experience in working with children under 5 and a genuine interest in early childhood education
  • Skills: Good communication capable or, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to apply knowledge of child development to plan and deliver activities.
