**Summary:**
In this role you will be participating a wide range of maintenance engineering activities throughout our production footprint. You will engage with colleagues at multiple levels and from several subject areas, to work together to ensure we deliver an exciting and robust production facility to our clients!
You will take part and take accountability for maintenance activities (planned and unplanned), utilising operational excellence and continuous improvement activities. With the aim of improving equipment reliability and ensuring minimal equipment downtime.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Learn and Assist - Work closely with experienced engineers and technicians to learn about control systems and instrumentation principles, equipment, maintenance principles, equipment, and procedures.
+ Calibration: Assist in the calibration of sensors, and instrumentation devices.
+ Problem solving: Identify and diagnose issues with control systems and instrumentation equipment and assist in resolving them effectively.
+ Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance, repair, and problem solving of machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
+ Preventive Maintenance: Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they become critical.

**Knowledge, skill and experience**
+ Entry requirements include a good level of Maths and English -you must have a GCSE grade 4/C or above in both subjects, or a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification.

+ Only complete tasks that you have the knowledge and competency to complete.
+ Ensure compliance with environment, health and safety rules, signage and instructions always.

As an Accessories Engineering Apprentice, you will be studying a Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship. Throughout your apprenticeship with us, you will be supported by your company mentor and your PETA Learning and Development Coach.
Your Level 3 programme will include, a level 3 Engineering work-based qualification delivered by PETA, and day release for 24 months to complete a level 3 BTEC technical certificate. Overall duration will be 45 months.
About the role:
Joining the Safran team as an Accessories Engineering Apprentice, your role will be focused on learning and understanding the principles of assembly/test and inspection methodology & practices.
You will be involved in ensuring the products meet the requirements of customers, quality standards and airworthiness authorities.
As part of your job as an Accessories Engineering Apprentice, you will learn how to:
- Assemble, test and inspect parts to drawings, documentation, routings and required standards
- Use a variety of production/inspection methods and equipment during the assembly, test and repair life cycle
